irocfan said: I had a Y2K SS Camaro and test drove a new V6 - I don;t think you'll have any worries about the new one feeling slow in comparison Its quick then? I might be able to afford one in about 7 years...just as well my Z28 doesn't depreciate much...!

My friend picked his one up from Cambridge a couple of weeks ago.
All I can say, it is one big car! Looks good on the oustide, have not been in it yet, but the new exhaust brings the best out the V8! It may be an auto, but it likes to get its rear end out on track!

I know someone who has recently had a new Camaro via their local dealer in Cambridge.
Chap by the name of Huff.
It's nice, and red too.

It's nice, and red too. Why did he go for the UK one over the US import, was it purely based on the warranty?

Passed my local Saab/Chevy dealer by Wimbledon Dog Track today and they were just taking delivery of a new Black Camaro. They also had a couple of Volts as well. They let me sit in the Camaro and although I liked it in the flesh, I have to say that the interior is really below par for a £35k car but I know these are much cheaper stateside so I should not be comparing it with the Germans or even Land Rover. Sounded nice even though it was running as a V4. The idea of the Volt was interesting, if what the salesman said was correct. It has a petrol generator that supplies electricity to the motor. He reckoned that a gallon of fuel supplies enough juice for 350 miles and it's a proper sized 4 door car. You charge it up which gets you a 50 mile range and then the genny gets the extra 300 miles. ETA that those door mirrors are awful. Since when has UK law insisted on van like mirrors on cars?
