I'm going to ask a silly question here.

How's that a UK-Spec car?

It's UK registered but it's left hand drive so I would say it's a UK registered import rather than UK spec or am I missing something?

It's still nice though
Seems to be EU spec in having rear fog lights, side repeaters and an EU satnav (US cars use OnStar, I think it's called). The CTS-V is sold through Bauer Millett in Manchester who I believe have the official franchise. I think the rest of the Cadillac dealers died out.
That explains it. So it's EU spec and not UK spec.

The downside of running a cadillac up here in Scotland is the lack of support by dealers. There's no franchise cadillac dealer up here.

They're mechanically pretty simple, and most bits can be mail ordered quick in the UK or as fast direct from US.

The UK as a whole suffers when it comes to true US car support. Bauer Millet claims to be the only authorized dealer/shop that can performed work on US spec GM cars. I had to take my other car to them to perform warranty work on it. I order parts from the US all the time for both my US spec cars. It can take the at the most two weeks to get parts here. Mecanicly you'll be ok. When it comes to the cars computers you'll have some difficulty. If local dealers don't have that style car in programmed into their Tech II you'll end up going to Bauer Millet.

I believe that is the issue with the Saab-based BLS - you need Cadillac software to interrogate the computer.
The 3.6 used in the CTS is the same or a similar unit used in the new Camaro but again, that has no UK support.
The old CTS-V used the C5 Zo6 LSy which had 400hp and is as relaible as you could ever wish for.
The new CTS-V uses an LSA, a detuned version of the motor used in the C6 ZR1 which may be more complicated, I know not. However, I would venture to suggest that that car would be worth the odd trip to Bauer Millett in the event I did go wrong as its 550hp would have its own attraction.

The 3.6 in his CTS is similar to the engine in the early Camaro but the ECM is different. There is little to no tuning support for the AU based motor in that platform. I have a 2005 CTS-V with the LS6 the 06-07 used a LS2. The LSA shares little to the LS9 in the ZR1, reason bearing 556 compaired to the 638hp. Funny thing I know is my friend here in the UK has a LSA based CTS-V. He had to make the three hour trip to Bauer Millet for an update.

Maybe Bauer need to set up a shop down south. It would help. Those that do specialise in American stuff down here are normally set up for dodge and Ford.
