Hi all,

Trying to track down my old 88 Camaro IROC-Z that i sold about 5yrs ago.
E503 NBP. Still showing as Taxed and MOT'd.

Stunning car that was all original, apart from the 150hp shot of NOS :-)
Would love to know where it is now.. One of those cars i should never had sold.

I almost bought that as a non runner in Greenock, not far from Glasgow, about 2 years ago. It had a fuelling issues and was missing the exhaust from the mid section back.
The guy who owned it was a bit of a dick and quite unhelpful. I believe he bought it from Blackpool.

Oh no, sounds like I should never have sold it.
It almost was in showroom condition 6yrs ago. Utterly mint, with the engine all original.

Wonder why the exhaust was missing. I had a American Thunder system on it, should have out lasted the car.

Disappointing. Maybe its better sometimes not to know what has happened to your ex cars.

Funnily enough I was on the CCUK website reading a thread writen by a guy that found his old Camaro as well. It was now a right shed. Abused and specially `customised`.

I sold my SN95 when it looked like this 3 years back....

I saw a picture of it 2 owners later on facebook of all things filthy rotten.

IROCFAN, how you doing chap !.
Used to chat to you a lot on the AACI forums, which no longer seem to exist.
And yes that was your old car.

What concerns me, is the mention above of not fuelling correctly. I hope some numpty owner has not taken all the TPI off, and just fitted big carbs. That would be really annoying.
I fitted the TPI Spoiler to the TB, de-restricted the front air filter boxes, so the K&N's could breath more easily, and added a Superchip to the ECM. Should have been about 240bhp, and still would almost do 30mpg when driven normally.

I only sold it as in the winter it would try to kill me almost daily. Every mildly wet roundabout it would go sideways. Not fun when your dealing with rush hour traffic.

I don't know whether to smile or not - nice to see the old car, sad to hear of the condition!! Things going well here - graduated to Mustangs now, though I still do look longingly at the IROCs whenever I see them!!

IIRC a road-test of the IROC had it marked down as the worst winter car they'd ever tested laugh

Hope all is going well with you too beer

That Camaro is an 87, not an 88. Quite unusual for an IROC-Z not to have T-roof too.

Matt it was Registered in 1988 in the UK.
It also was a Roller Rocker engine, so it was indeed an 1988. Since Roller Rockers were not introduced into early in the year of 88.

Fair enough - it's got 87 wheels and graphics though. I ran a 5.7TPI 88 IROC and I think it's pretty well known that a lot of 350's were actually 305's in the UK. Your car looks like an RS with IROC tape stickers to be honest. Not saying it is - just saying that's what it looks like.

No, it was a true IROC-Z. All RPO codes matching.

Came complete with Dealer supplied factory build sheet, and origninal bill of sale.
Was imported from North Carolina.

I also changed them :-)

When I picked the car up from its owner in kent, the Decals were Silver in colour, and at the front of the doors.
I wanted Gold as per some of the original cars GM used in Advertising, so managed to get a set of genuine GM gold IROC-Z decals from the US and had them shipped over.
I also put them on the front of the door since I think they look better in that position, rather than the rear of the door.

Another previous owner here! I bought the car in May 2009 from a guy in Cardiff. I think his name was Matt but I can't remember for sure. I part exchanged it for a 1992 Z28 350 from a dealer in Leigh-on-Sea (Essex) in September 2009.

I'm afraid I can't offer any help as to where it is now. My memory is hazy but I remember it appearing on eBay once and the advert was clearly written by a bit of a d*ck. It turned up again a while later, possibly on either the Thirdgen.org forum or the Camaro Club forum.

When I had the car it was tidy enough but showing it's age. The rear arches were starting to show signs of corrosion and the paintwork was a bit flat. The interior was pretty tired too and I spent quite a while cleaning it up as best I could. I sorted out a couple of minor electrical issues with it and had to replace the exhaust Y pipe which was blowing. It came with the nitrous kit but it wasn't in use. I removed most of it and blanked off the throttle body ports. It had gold '5.7 Tuned Port Injection' decals on the nose and rocker panels which I removed since it was a 305! It never gave me any serious trouble and I did around 5000 miles in it including a lad's trip to France which was epic. It sounded fantastic too!
