I'm happy to play the waiting game for a while, there's a GT350 in my near future and a Z28 if that doesn't materialize so it's no hardship.

That is cool. My problem was the Challenger Hellcat is the first new car to get me all excited in at least the past 10 years. Apart from some super exotica that are way out of my price range. If I really could not get hold of one I would not be buying anything else. Just took some good advice from the Hellcat.org guys and got very lucky and found one. Can't wait for it to arrive

I've got a deposit down with a UK importer, he reckons June/July.

Saw it at the 2015 Geneva show and got well and truly hooked, deposit placed the day I got back!

Hope it all goes smoothly!

One came into the UK last week, a friend saw it on a transporter heading up the A3, a little digging found a dealer in the Putney area had got it in for a customer.

Well what a day yesterday had been. I had the day off work to attend a good friends fathers funeral at midday.

(My good friend and mechanic Brian who has been majorly instrumental in helping me buy a Challenger Hellcat. Well in truth without Brian and his good mate Gary stateside. It never would have happened.)

Well the bugger hid something from me. He knew we had the funeral today and what he did not tell me was that he went to Southampton Monday night to collect my Hellcat first thing this morning. He thought it would be a nice surprise to cheer me up on a very sad day. I had some paperwork to give him and he just said let me know what time you are home and I'll swing by and pick it up.

4pm he swings by and I am on the phone to work catching up. Mid conversation I get Kerry shouting Brian's here and he wants you outside. I said tell him to come in I'm on the phone. No he wants you outside now. Bloody hell.

Go to the front door and WOW. He's only sitting out front in the Hellcat with his missus Tracy. Tracy is a big girl with a very apt T shirt that sums it up pretty much. The real deal just like the Hellcat

He is driving the car on trade plates as we still have to get the car UK registered. Hopefully about a fortnight. But who cares. I'm going to get to sample my Hellcats delights here and now.

I've read so many threads and road tests on the Hellcat I can only add that this car is as awesome as they all describe. The ride is firmer than I expected in street. But in a good way. The power. Oh the power. That was a real surprise. It is so easy to modulate. You have quite a lot of pedal travel but Dodge have done an incredible job of making 700 + hp so useable.

Not much chance of making rapid progress because we were getting into rush hour but the odd occasion presented itself. Brakes are as awesome as I hoped for. My business partner and brother in law always pops into a local pub for a couple of pints before going home. So I swung by to show Gary. Suitably impressed along with a couple of his mates as well that knew the Hellcat was coming.

Then back home stopping at a neighbour at the top of the road. A young guy, pure petrol head that rung me after I passed by on my way out. You've got it I just heard it.

So me and Kerry took Brian and Tracy out to get some dinner. Then my niece calls. She came over with her boyfriend Sam. Both petrol heads. Sam has an E30 M3 BMW with a E46 M3 engine that is supercharged. 600bhp. They loved the car. Nina said I was not sure about it in the pictures but in the flesh it is awesome. Took them for a little blast and then Sam took me for a blast in the M3. Old school quick.

So we are waiting on a call from the guy to get the car in to get the light conversion carried out and the registration done. Maybe a day or two. The daft thing is that Kerry has not even sat in the car yet. She was to busy entertaining. Tomorrow is another day. Brian said just before he left. You are probably the first owner to drive their Hellcat in the UK. Then said to Kerry. There are three keys. The red ones are for me and Graeme. The black key is for you.

Congratulations Graeme, great story, thanks for sharing. Sounds like you had the perfect ending to an otherwise tough day.

Just back from a US trip myself where I saw only one Challenger Hellcat and that one was a prize at a Las Vegas Casino! (photo below)

The Dodge dealer that I visited to collect some parts previously had 3 and all were sold over-list. Interestingly, one of their salesmen told me that they cannot get any more until the 2016 model allocation. Apparently they can get Hellcat Chargers though.

The TSA had a good rummage through the bags containing my Challenger parts on the way back and left friendly 'love notes' to inform of their inspection. Glad that I had not locked the cases. All was put back nicely though and I now have a nice MOPAR CAI on my SRT8.

Hope to see your Hellcat out and about soon, let us know when you have completed all the UK 'formalities'.

Win me in Las Vegas!

What a great story Graeme!

Another ahead of me has pulled out, so there's a chance I could get mine before the fall. Fingers are crossed firmly, but I'm not overly optimistic.
