Well it's taken 2 months to get round to ringing my local Chrysler dealer....thought I'd update anyone who's interested in this recall.

I'm sorting out a spare key transponder programming and thought I'd test the water with that (no problem) before mugging them with the airbag recall.

They looked it up, confirmed the recall and said no problem and will do next week with the key. Unfortunately they later called back and said the parts to fix the problem are not yet available to fix the issue.

My feeling was they were happy to do it once the parts are available and are not bothered about where the vehicle was originally from so all good. I'd give it a couple of months and ring your local dealer.

Cheers
Dave

I've been in contact with County Motor Works, Chelmsford about the airbag recall and they have confirmed my 2007 Dodge Ram has a recall on the drivers airbag, but that this was only issued in May, hopefully the passengers and side airbags are unaffected....

They are now working out the parts and work required before coming back to me, they've been very helpful so far.

I had a call back to confirm that Chrysler has no instructions out at the moment to carry out the recall, so dealer is supposed to be e-mailing me details to contact Chrysler directly.

I may look to disconnect the drivers airbag until this is resolved, I'd rather break a few ribs in an accident than get seriously injured or killed by shrapnel....
