There must be over 500 Tesla's in UK by now (I know 200 were delivered between Christmas and New year when I got mine.)

Just wondering, as an American car, do they fit in here? There isn't a section for them in the EV threads.

Out, out - foul demons of electrickery - strictly internal combustion - and lots of it, in here. We'll have none of your sissy whirring (and preposterous acceleration) around these parts - go hang out with the Leafs and Prius's. Pah!

Lots of Tesla threads in the EV section. This is the main one : http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I've seen the EV threads but it is still a Yank. My petrol models are mainly V8's but English and Italian but I have had a 455 Rocket 8 Oldsmobile in my dim and distant past

nope. It is not a car. It is a toaster. When you turn the key and fire it up. Zilch. It maybe the future. But not a future that I will ever buy into.

Reality is that a Tesla will leave most other cars behind in the traffic light grand prix - it is American too!

I must have a different version, no toast and there is no key to turn :-)

Joking aside - It's a US made product and a well engineered, massively fast and fine looking car - so why not post here? I suspect you may get a little lonely though - electric cars are still seen as a little esoteric and maybe a little contrary for those who appreciate current and past US made gasoline powered cars.

I was in Brent Cross shopping centre this afternoon. I parked by the dedicated Tesla parking area. I'd always liked the looks of these cars. But, I'd not got close to one to have a look at the cabin.

What I saw surprised me. Two huge, black plexiglass flat screens confront the driver, which I'm sure would light up like xmas trees when the car was being used. But, which looked cheap, tacky and in the example I saw, full of greasy finger prints.

In a word, horrid.

A real disappointment.
