I think all that's needed is a software update for the car to automatically put itself into Park if you open a door whilst stationary, problem solved! It really didn't seem too bad though, I was expecting all sorts of issue having read the various reports from the good old US of A.

Things might be different when the kids are playing-up and the mrs is screaming at me though laugh
Yours turn up in the end?

Had the finance papers last week and returned them on Thursday, so just waiting for it to arrive now! Hope it'll be this week so we can pick it up at the weekend.

What happened to 'they're being cleaned and all arriving on transporters on Monday morning' a couple of weeks ago?

To be fair, right from ordering two weeks ago, I was always told it'd be a 3-4 week turnaround, so I never expected it any sooner.

Would love to know the story. They've told me there's absolutely no chance of a repeat of the offer.

Post up all that's wrong with it too though. smile

I decided not to go for the Alltrack as Passat Estate just does nothing for me at all, but then regretted it straight away. It does make me feel slightly better reading all the negative points about it now.

Even in my wife's DSG Tiguan, with auto-hold and electric handbrake, you have to keep your wits about you particularly when jumping out of the car briefly - and keyless adds another level of uncertainty.
What was wrong with a key and a handbrake , it's like they have to keep inventing suff that's not needed so there's something else to add to the spec list

has anyone ever not bought a car because it had a handbrake , I doubt it

Haha, not yet, although you've just given me a great name for it when it does! laugh

Papers are all sorted, had a 'welcome pack' from FCA in the post yesterday - just waiting for the unicorn to arrive!

I did an online chat with them early in the week asking if maybe anyone had changed their minds, etc then I could complete before the end of the qtr. They said all done now. So I asked if the deal was likely to be repeated and got a flat "no".

I was settled in my mind to hang on to my old Merc for another year but I just got the warranty renewal and it's shot up. Thinks like that make cheap lease deals a no-brainer.

Some good x trail deals, it's a very good car.

Thanks for that. It's certainly a car I'm aware of, if only because the 7 seat option could be potentially useful (although still only two has isofix seats)

However while I think the idea of performance SUVs is slightly bonkers, going to a 1.6 and 0-60 time of 12 seconds might be a step too far!

I was leant one as I have a leaf, it had a high spec and was diesel. I drove it to Wales and all around for 4 days it was perfect, it never felt underpowered and was automatic, I assumed it was a 2.0 but was amazed it was a 1.6 however it wasn't very frugal.

..automatic,
I couldn't see a description at a glance, but is the auto CVT? Was it OK? Only CVT I've driven is Honda Jazz.

I've had a Murano cvt it was terrible, this has some sort of normal auto programming to behave as you expect - have a drive it's surprising.

Lol unicorns are meant to be sleek and powerfully good looking - not words I would use to describe this hippo! Perhaps hippocorn would be a better term? biggrin
