Obviously saw it as great way to build a database of interested customers.

Had a chat with the MD himself who said they had an allocation of 20 cars and they sold way more than they were expecting. Said they will try and help us out with another deal but doubt it will be anywhere near as good.

Ah well, worth a try eh?

Let's face it, I think most of us have been smelling a rat all week! The lack of communication was very telling.

I haven't received an email yet, although that's not surprising considering the way things have gone this week!

I have gently tried to allude towards what sort of dealer they are a couple of times in this and the main thread. An earlier comment about a payment of £4M going to Jeep from Mangoletsi is somewhat unfeasible.

I tried the online chat earlier and where it's worked fine all week, they wouldn't respond today.

If the guy gets his £199 red one I'll be pleased for him, but gutted I didn't get one too.

So they were happy taking deposits on a wing and a prayer...... 'Interesting' practice.

Not sure they have much of a quality database. I'm not one to cut my nose off, but unless a deal came up as good as this, I couldn't see myself racing to do business with them! I've been waiting for a call since Monday evening for starters......

Hope some of you have managed to get one though, be interested to hear.

I've just called them again. Spoke to Dave in sales who said all of the rejection emails have been sent out, but he needs to check the database to be 100% certain. I haven't received one yet so maybe there's hope, who knows!

The guy with the red one (me) also got the letter, so no candy for me either. No biggie, it was a lovely thought while it lasted, another opportunity will come along soon.

Just had a call from Jon to say i've definitely got one. Part of me is still thinking there's another twist somewhere along the line!

I ordered mine at 8:45 on Sunday night, so i'm surprised i've sneaked in TBH. Maybe it's 'cos mine is £379pm rather than £239/£279 etc?!

Nicely done, let us know how you get on! When I spoke to the MD he said they sold out on Saturday for the initial 20....does no one know what is going on in this business?!

Let's just say I wouldn't have been surprised if they'd ask for deposits in cash....

I've just picked up the dear John email, it was sent an hour ago.

I 'ordered' at around 3pm Sunday.

I had ordered at 8pm on Sunday so surely anyone that ordered one after that or on Monday will be getting the email too, or they've prioritised people with a higher spec/mileage as they can make more off it.

And so it starts, got my cancellation email frown

It is with sincere regret that we write to inform you that we will not be able to supply you with the Jeep Grand Cherokee in which you have expressed an interest.

We secured special terms on a number of vehicles, which we believed would be enough to satisfy demand, but in the event we were overwhelmed with enquiries.

We had hoped to be able to extend these terms on additional vehicles but this has turned out not to be the case.

If you paid your deposit by credit or debit card, we will put it back on your card by the end of the day on Friday 17th June. If you paid it in another way we will make arrangements separately.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you have been caused. Rest assured that when other special opportunities arise, customers such as yourself will be exclusively offered the first option. If we can be of any service to you in the meantime, we promise to give you the best terms possible on whichever vehicle is of interest.
Funnily enough, the text I received yesterday referred to the car I had 'ordered', that is now expressed as ' interest in'

That's what I was thinking, or maybe i've been wrongly told that i've secured one. Who knows... they certainly don't! biggrin

That it's back to the original 20 does make me think again of the Ascot story. That's got to be feasible. Why else would they punt them out at half price?

Not that I'd regard that as an issue. I'd also still have a go if Mangoletsi came up with another deal - on a leased or new car it wouldn't bother me. I'd be much more careful on a used car though.

What a monumental fcensoredk up!

I am not one to be be too bothered by online reviews, they tend to be full of the armchair critics with an axe to grind. That said, I think that the Google reviews of Mangoletsi say it all...Dicking people about like this is just not good enough mad

I haven't received a text, confirming or an email, however I think someone on here said that Jamie had gone on holiday? When I spoke to him to order the car (about 13.50 on Sunday) he told me they had 4 of the £249pm cars left.
