How many people drive Yank V8's as daily drivers
Discussion
I drove a Corvette C4, 3rd gen Camaro Z28 and a 4th gen Camaro Z28 as dailies up to 2004 but then I bought a new yank and kept it as a garage ornament for 12 years and used a normal car - mainly becaiuse the Yank is modified so insurance became an issue and business use was required plus parking was the third issue.
if i could, I would.

I did until 2013 (when the fuel was nearly £1.50/litre) now considering it again. Just wondered if I was in the minority?
My T-bird does about 26mpg on a 50 mile/day commute mainly on the motorway, which considering its a 4.6 I don't think is too bad.
Do you have a cut-off, either on fuel prices (when it goes over a certain figure), or commute distance?
I'd love to run a V8 daily and would if I commuted less.My T-bird does about 26mpg on a 50 mile/day commute mainly on the motorway, which considering its a 4.6 I don't think is too bad.

I do about 14,000 miles a year commuting. And another 10,000 miles a year socially. The 10,000 miles is normally on low mpg cars as is. I just simply cannot afford to do the 14,000 miles a year at low mpg.
Last time I took my Camaro to work it did about 22mpg, much worse than normal running about it in, I think sitting in traffic kills the mpg. Plus the roads are too busy to actually enjoy the performance too, so sort of wasted.
Current daily steed is doing 44mpg+, so half the fuel costs.

2002 Crown Vic Police Interceptor, commuting about 25 miles each day.
I so regret selling my Mercury Grand Marquis (A variant of the Crown Vic) even tho it was the only car I made money on. Free motoring for a year, including fuel and insurance.I hope to have a Crown Vic or similar again one day.
