Thinking about buying a 2002 4.6 Mustang, need advice

Just the usual stuff really - rust, linkages, joints, some sort of service "history" by past owners - oil changes etc.
The V8s are pretty bulletproof but a little underpowered compared to the equivalent Camaro Z28/SS/Firebird Trans Am, putting out 215hp for the GT versus 305 plus for the Chevy.
Check for advisories on the MOT and ensure the brakes aren't sticky and the steering ball joints aren't worn.
The thing is that most parts are cheap and readily available, it's the shipping costs that tend to push up the cost.
Tax should be about £235 per year. There are numerous insurers like A-Plan, Footman James but i have just insured with Brentacre.

had mine about 8 years now and its been very reliable, use it all year all weathers.The engine & auto box are bullet proof, drop the oil every 3k and filter every 6k. Yes the front brakes needed a rebuild due to seizure but all basic stuff and great for the diy mechanic, nothing too complicated or expensive. I pay 280 for insurance limited to 4k/year
Despite mine living on the drive the body work is brilliant for a 14 y\o car and I'm happy with the 260 bhp ( maybe a tad more due to a CAI and catbacks), fuel consumption surprisingly good 30 on a long run is easily achievable with the 4sp auto/overdrive.
But best of all....... that V8 sound.

Ahem 215hp? Not on a 1999-04, they are 260hp. They do feel a bit underpowered though, and not quick in standard form by today's standards .
Never had any issues with mine over the last 11 years, although its admittedly a lot less miles than the one you're looking at.
