Good afternoon all.

I hope everybody is keeping well!

My '97 GTS has been off the road for a while due to one reason or another and the time has come to get it back up and running, however I have run in to one or two problems. I'm not mechanically minded so I'm in need of help from somebody who has experience working on Vipers as well as bodywork and is mobile as I need them to come to me (North West) due to the car not working. Of course I am willing to pay for this service and all work to be carried out that is needed. I'm at my wits end with some of the problems so any help or advice would be HIGHLY appreciated and any work done that solves the problems would be amazing!

Thanks a lot everybody and take care!

I think you should just sell it to me for 10 grand and be done with it lol
Joking aside that must be very frustrating, the only mechanic I know on Vipers is Dr Bob but he's not mobile and does stuff at home I beleive, he will no doubt at some point comment here, what sort of issues are you having ?

North west is a big place, can you narrow it down. There's a viper chap is Blackpool who has a great mechanical knowledge, or Colin above
in Scotland who can do mechanic's and bodywork

Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies so far. I'm Manchester based and the main problem i'm having is a water ingress problem. I've no idea where it is coming from, but it's very bad. I've struggled with the issue for a long time now, but it seems to be getting worse and i'd really like it sorting once and for all.

This is a common problem I think. From my experience the side windows do not seal very well so push the door hard and make sure the glass isn't still outside the rubber. Also the windscreen seal may be the culprit. Check to see if it has degraded. If any of these seals are a problem you will get water in the foot wells. The rear window is another problem area to check if the boot is wet.

The rear window seal is often those little holes in the channel at the bottom which are drains. They have a little pipe that takes the water and they get blocked. Strimmer wire or similar can be used to clear them.
