Obviously it’s a feasting turd of a car, but it’s my turd!
Logistics being what they are can’t get it collected and delivered for a week, but hey ho ,
So having been completely sidetracked for the last 3 weeks I can get back to finding my wife a new car bless er,
She never moans or complains however that may change when she see my new Bird ,
hehe
So wife’s car and then I can get stuck in!!!
She's going to love it by the sounds of it ,

It's going to be a expensive few weeks for you but well worth it.

I think we are going to look forward to it almost as much as you,

Congratulations party

Thanks guys'

Proper full report once she's home and ive had a good o'l poke around,
But yep feels great to be back in the game again!
Looking at a full strip, and mulling ideas to roll the body tub, so i can stand or sit rather than lie on my back for bloody weeks !
Not overly sure if this is workable given the small space ive got, but well see,

Im moving away from the RR idea, its not completely dead but sorting all the running gear etc, going through the steering and braking will burn through a lot of time, as its remove, restore refit and move on, then once im ready to tackle the body i'l need to remove it all again,

but as usual getting a tad in front me thinks, should have a much clearer picture in a couple of weeks.
For now i can stop looking and sort of relax, as i honestly never thought this day would come cloud9

Anyone remember Thrush brands "Hush Thrush" mufflers? (before their Turbo Mufflers came on to the market)...........supposedly introduced to give the market a 'quiet' performance muffler. Problem was - they were baffled but seemingly had little resistance to internal corrosion so didn't last long........when these were used on a big block Mopar or Poncho with a wild cam they sounded fantastic and would resonate so much car and house windows nearby would rattle.........low revving HD and SD TransAm's were particularly noticable.........

When I used start my Ducati Monster (straight through carbon-fibre SilMotor system) inside the lock-up, I'd get a covering of dust/dirt from the wooden beams above from the vibration, and my neighbour friend that lived at other end of street said she always knew when I was going out on the bike biglaugh

Going back many years when I had my modded 428 4 speed Galaxie with its 'rumpity' cam and visit the missus before we were married she was living in a Edwardian row of London terraced houses. Both her and local neighbours always knew when I was coming as all the sash windows would rattle in their frames. People in ground floor flat below would have ornaments vibrate off the display shelves.......... unfortunately (perhaps, fortunately) aftermarket cams today are maybe less extreme in terms of duration/overlap.

There’s a ton of work to do , obviously got some corrosion to deal with , but fingers crossed not to much in the way of structural damage,
The doors shut nicely with zero wear evident in the hinges etc, this alone is unusual!
What potentially makes this particular turd worth the effort is it’s completely factory and original, no one’s previously got at it , nothing is patched up, no crap old school mot welding blah blah,
A proper virgin so I’m the first so to speak,
And I fully intend to do the old lady proud,
I figured 2 years , the worst way, and providing the Cowl panels are not toast, and the rear under side is half sound should be a fair bit less time wise,
Theoretically this should be far simpler to do than the Challenger,
The second gen F body was made for over 10 years almost unaltered, so body panels are far easier and cheaper to obtain.
So it follows the restoration should also be simpler to
I may be able to save both doors, great if a i can,
Maybe even the front quarters??
Pretty sure both rear quarters are fairly solid,
So worst way is a Hood, and a pair of front quarters and a pair of door skins,

Time will tell but the deeds done so no going back now !!

Is it an SD? Cos an obscure Aussie surf punk band wrote a song about them. I have posted this before.

This is a huge bonus, and will certainly add to its value once you've finished it.

Indeed, only 59 made with the RA IV motor and a 4-speed.

Black 68 440cu Charger coming up for Auction on Car & Classic. Looks to have originally been red, column change, no console, wheels look so wrong, ARE or Minilites would transform it.
Hotchkiss rear anti roll bar and frame stiffeners.
The advert description is poor and very vague, surprised that they have let the advert on, with such a vague description. No Vin de code info either, which is vital for a Mopar.
It does have its / a build sheet ( which would have been inside one of the seats )
Seller also is incorrect in the '68 Charger being industry first with hidden headlights, as the Buick Rivera had it 3 years before the '68 Charger!

If its a real 440, and a column shift, no-console car, that would be unusual, although not super rare, as even a few Hemi cars got optioned with column shift auto's!
The advert has now been updated to show a lot of invoices including the parts used for the engine rebuild and also the build sheet if anyone's good at decoding them? To be fair, although it's not the best cosmetically and it has the "wrong" wheels (unless your name is Bo or Luke), someone spent a lot of money on it, albeit about 13 years ago. wink

£20250, no reserve, four days to go.
