Yay! All now working as it should, and no permenant feed to the active exhaust valves required and therefore no self flattening battery woohoo

Tomorrow is 6 months to the day from delivery, so the rejection email that was penned on Friday can remain firmly in the Drafts folder. Just such a shame you have to take these matters into your own hands to get them resolved when dealers seem to be unable to. I feel so sorry for their customers that are not able to do that. irked

Great news. I think I’d be having a strop at Unity and trying to get a free service, or at least the parts for one out of them if you understandably don’t want to take it back there

biglaugh Interesting you say that about the service. So the issue was with one of the active exhaust valves, and a "solution" that simply drained the battery. An ammeter between the battery and the -ve cable to the body showed that was the issue.

In 5 weeks, they replaced the (good) battery and changed the oil, which was just 2000 miles old. Rather unsurprisingly, when the car came back after 5 weeks, it was still discharging its (now new) battery. Honestly, you would have thought that new oil would have stopped the battery being drained..... rofl

Hey that's great news. Glad you've got it all sorted.

Did you get the issue with your audio fixed ?

you're probably already on there but the UK Challenger pages do have quite a few knowledgeable people

Not sure yet, but erring on the side of no, though its behaved itself lately. But not driving it much now as its laid up for the winter. It did get a run to the end of the (private) road today, which is not subject to the attempts by the local council to salt / grit it, and it was nice and dry. Radio worked then.

So the jury is still out on that one, as I am not aware very much has been done with it. Googling "Uconnect freezing" returns numerous threads and postings on the issue, dating back years, so I am not holding my breath. frown

Might be worth having a chat with someone like David Boatwright. They probably see a lot more cars than an official UK Dodge dealer.
Bit wary of these UK dealers these days.
Just taken this advice and its a breath of fresh air speaking to them. They are mortified at the tale of this thread, so will discuss a bit more with them, whilst Trading Standards go and deal with Unity. Unity had a deadline to call back by 1000 this morning, but not a cheep.

It is a shame hearing Unity being like this. I used to use the dealership that started the group and they were all fantastic there. No idea how involved the original team are these days.
