I'm using my phone so it's difficult to see.

In that case I'll have a proper look tomorrow.

Tail lights look like a cross between Ronnie Barker & Dame Edna.

Add the Dumbo mirrors to that... NO thanks !!

Seriously looking into importing directly from the States knowing this will be what we get here...

And I kow it may sound silly, but I don't want to buy a car about which I think "I don't like this or that". It's either all or nothing. And all is a US 2011 Camaro for me.

One positive thing though: at least they didn't shove the Aveo's steering wheel into the EU version as well; like they did on the ZL1 proto.

Both the mirrors and the rear lights are a let down. I suspect the pricing for these "official" cars will also be pretty high, so where's the benefit in not buying one from an independent specialist?

Those lights look bizarre. They won't do a right hooker presumably? So you may as well buy the Yank version and ship it over. I could probably be persuaded to act as US agent for those who want to, for my usual fee. wink

The Mirrors are the same as the New Euro spec Corvette 2010 MY. I really like the rear lights look nice to me.

If they do a RHD one I'd seriously consider chopping in my Z4MC for one of these. The product placement in the new series of Hawaii 5-0 has a lot to answer for...

Any indication of UK pricing?

I am quite used to finding myself at odds with people on this forum and this time is no exception. The mirrors aren't ideal but blame the EU's homologation rules regarding the size of the mirror against the size of the vehicle. The tailight arrangement I am actually impressed with. The lights look much better, the LED's will be cleaner and more distinctive and the removal of the lights from the bumper panel itself is much cleaner..... A good effort considering it is for a very short run of cars.... M

I hope they dont either. The exclusivity will be lost if they do.

I was hoping that since it was based on a Holden a RHD version would be pretty easy to do.

Let's see what happens. If it's LHD then I may as well import one from the US.

I stand corrected.
Originally the UK spec was due March time and prices were rumoured to be circa £40k, but most people expected it closer to £45k.

No idea what they would charge for a right hooker.

Hope they don't bring many over
For a 6 banger or an SS?

How much of that is profiteering and how much down to government greed via taxation? A 6 banger here with tax paid can be had from about 16,000 pounds. I paid around 27,000 pounds tax paid and OTR for a full fat 2SS with RS pack, accent interior, auto etc... 45 grand seems outrageous.

Nearly all government greed. A few on here have posted figures on how it breaks down, and there's very little profit for the importers. Might be able to save £3-4000 on a deal, but I'd rather pay someone for the hassle.

There are some US-spec ones for sale in the PH classifieds for much less than £40k. I'm assuming the sellers are making a profit too.
