just purchased this as a beater. It would be rude not to when one can finance it over 3 years for just over 20 quid a month with £87.00 down.

my man maths makes that basically free, yes ?

You'd normally be able to haggle a bit on that.

Would it be rude to ask if paying list was part of the deal?

So you'll be wearing the watch in pretty normal circumstances then, not beating it.

(I hate the term "beater" hehe )

eta - nice watch mind, and not a bad deal at all.

If it makes you feel better, I climb with my Breitling Colt. It's a bit fked these days, though. Could do with a "service". Or what we call, in the real world, "fixing". hehe

You're new to this lark, aren't you. When you post "an old heuer", you need to post photos to go with your reply!

Picking up these two for my collection on Saturday biggrin
And it's all this forums fault! Until a month or so ago, I had one watch (an Accurist Chronograph) and now I'll have five! But a collection won't be complete without some Seiko divers, so when a friend posted these for sale on facebook I had to have them! It was only after agreeing to buy them that I did my research and found they're reasonably collectable 6309s.... smile

Advice please - deciding on potential incomer

I've been offered a new Zenith at a decent discount. Special edition El Primero chronograph with a blue dial

Sorely tempted....I quite like the Striking Tenth but wavering as the dial may be a little too busy / glittery for me

Ultimately i need to decide myself, but would be interested in PH'er thoughts?

Bit late to the party. Wanttttt.

I'm getting rid of the Tudor Heritage Chrono and the Linde Werdelin, and getting an IWC Aquatimer for my holiday / pub / weekend watch. Hopefully that will be me happy for a while smile

Carrying on the JLC trend, i've just bought this Jaeger leCoultre Amvox 2 DBS Chronograph, which will arrive shortly (generic photo below)

The Zenith El Primero Chronograph I was offered was very nice, but I love the Amvox far more. The detail is astonishing and the chrono mechanism is fabulous (note to self: start finding things to time)

faaaaaaark.

Want one. What a cracking looking thing.
