Let's see your NATO's
Discussion
I have just ordered my first ever NATO, a 22mm 'Bond' style from TF. Up to now I have never really warmed to the NATO style despite the inherent safety it offers, however I have an upcoming outdoor event where a NATO could be useful.
It will be going on my Seiko 007 so hopefully I will post some pictures later this week.

Apparently 'NATO' has been trademarked by 'International Watchman' last week; cheeky beggars.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a thick NATO strap? I have a couple, but the problem I have is the material is way too thin. For example, this is probably a good representation of the thickness of material that most NATOs generally have:
The problem with such a thin and lightweight material is the head of the watch then becomes significantly heavier than the rest of the strap, the result is the watch head wants to always rotate around the wrist. It's really annoying. I want a material at least twice, if not three times as thick as the example above, if just feels to flimsy. In order to stop this happening, the material needs to be about 2-3mm thick, approximately the thickness of a leather strap. The best example I can give would be the type of material used for harnesses in a track car, similar in build up to the NATOs above, but much thicker (but still thin enough to pass between the spring bar and the watch head). It's not like these straps are a squeeze at present is it?
I just can't seem to find anything substantial - all I keep getting are cheap and nasty thin material straps like the ones above
Anyone help?
EDIT - This looks like a better example on Page 1

Can any recommend a source of good quality NATOs?
I've just acquired a 'new' (to me) watch that I think will look good on one.
I've got a cheapish one on a Seiko already, which is ok, but some of the straps here have much more solid looking rings.
Cheers.

I've paid £20 for them in the past and very recently bought one for £4 delivered, from Hong Kong, on eBay. I couldn't tell the difference. I've just acquired a 'new' (to me) watch that I think will look good on one.

The cheapo one is made by 'Infantry' and it's plain black with matte black buckles. Looks the business with my 16610 Sub on it. Rings are sturdy IMO

Timefactors.Excellent quality and they have bead-blasted hardware, which I much prefer to the shiny stuff.

Best colour combination (IMO). And 42 today!
Certainly goes well with the watch, although I'm not usually a big fan of the multicoloured NATOs, personally. As someone said before, they always remind me of Schoolboy Timexs

marcosgt - you should see my NATO in regimental colours, it makes that one look restrained
