Ok, not in the right section maybe but I generally find that dudes who know watches also know pens.
I'm looking at either the Montegrappa Neruno or the Pelikan Ductus 3100, maybe the M600 (but I don't like the gold). Both in rollerball as I can't really use a fountain pen (plus I think I'd be too young to pull one off).
Anything else I should consider?

I have a Pelikan Chicago which is a limited edition M600. Its a great pen, I have used it daily for the last 6 years. Nice to write with, amazingly tactile smooth finish, looks good and expensive without being flashy and without being a Montblanc 
It is finished with silver rather than gold details and they made it in a roller ball version. Not sure if you can still get them, you may find a used one somewhere.
IMO a fountain pen feels more special and when paying lots of money for a pen it should feel special.

hmmmm - can't really say I get expensive ballpoints/rollerballs - fountain pens all the way for me. - you will be happy with any of your choices. Just don't go Mont Blanc like all the other sheep.
If you want to try a cheap but quality pountain pen to see if you can live with one, try the TWSBI 'demonstrators' - superb quality. I have 3 on the go at the moment - different colours - matching with same colour ink :-)

I won't, don't worry. Besides, most people would probably assume it's fake anyways. Thats exactly what I don't want. I've actually got a gold/silver Cross fountain that I've never used. I'll get some cartridges for that first I think.

and I have to say it's been magnificent! I like chunky industrial pens and so the marble effect stuff doesn't do it for me so much. Lifetime warranty and the service from Cross is excellent.

I write with a lapis blue Parker Duofold International fountain pen, which was my graduation present from my father. I couldn't contemplate using any other kind of pen on a daily basis.
I have designs on a green Pelikan Souveran in the M1000 size (What can I say? I have big hands, eh ladies!) and wouldn't say no to a Conway Stewart Churchill.

I have a Laban mento, this is huge but I like big barrelled pens - slim ones give me cramp. My fave to write with is my Duofold, lovely balance lovely nib, followed closely by the Laban.
But on a day to day I have 3 TWSBI's which are great.
Laban do some nice stuff. and Cheepish as well.
Also look at the Chinese Ebay stuff - at the end of the day the writing experience with a ballpoint is down to the refil. I have several chinese FP's and the quality of the pen itsself has been fine, the nibs vary a lot from crap to brilliant.

I have one of the M1000s - great pen. ETA: They write VERY wet though, which can be a minor inconvenience at times.But this one makes it look small:
The next one bought will be a Conway - but the "Winston".
PS - if you do succumb to a Conway, bear in mind they offer a full bespoke service so you don't need to limit yourself to the standard colours. It does however have an impact on price.

Back on topic:
In addition to the M600, Pelikan also offer the M605 (silver not gold). They do it in rollerball I think... but FP is the way to go!
Have you written with the NeroUno? Even though I used to like my (sadly lost) Rotring 600, I couldn't get to grips with the shape of those when I tried one. Preferred the Expressione myself, but world would be a boring place if everyone liked the same things.
Oh, and if you do join the FP crowd, make sure you finish the job by choosing a decent ink!

I like Waterman for blue ink.
I have no idea what you're talking about! Or at least would never admit if I did. I like Waterman for blue ink.
Fortunately I have decent stock of my favourite ink (sadly now discontinued) but, based on what I've not seen reviewed elsewhere, must try Diamine Oxblood at some point.
Don't use it myself, but do rather like the Waterman Florida Blue...
