They are a little fussy for my tastes.

I'm really not a fan and class them as 'old manny' watches. frown

I know what you mean, and I'm pretty averse to clutter myself, but the Cosmonaute has an interesting history, is unusual as it's a 24hr watch and also has the full bifta slide-rule.
Rather like a Sinn 903 - it's inevitable that a slide-rule chronograph will be cluttered, that's all part of the function/form thing. As something nice to look at it may not be everyones cup of tea, but as a functional item it's fairly interesting I think.

The least cluttered slide-rule chrono is perhaps the O&W Aviation, made from parts left over when Breitling went bump in '79 -

You may be right, but this thread alone suggests there must be a lot of small wrists out there ... wink

These are the only Breitling's I'd choose to wear I think, perhaps maybe the Navi too...

Favourite has to be the green bezel Heritage.
+ 1 but prefer the Blue one. Sublime!! No fancy crap, just a good watch which needs not be taken off (unless you intend to dive to silly depths!) Good quality and looks fantastic in any situation.

I know some like them, but show me a Breitling and it will have emerged from a black or white RRS with a private plate. TOWIE on a wrist. The one brand that epitomises everything that I would abhor in watch design. Only my opinion obviously.

Nope, no RRS here, never have, never will. No tattoos either.

Can I think of anyone I know who owns a Breitling and a RRS, um, no.

Stef

P.S What's an RRS?

Range Rover Sport.

Interestingly, I have two Breitlings and no RRS. In fact, the garage consists of a Mondeo, a Fabia and a Griffith.

ETA - What's a TOWIE?

My 2003 Blackbird is currently at Breitling in Tunbridge wells having a "factory fresh" overhaul. Cost is £360ish as per PDF link in this thread and I was told it would take up to 8 weeks.........only 4 more to go and I get to visit the place again (well worth it) and put it back on my wrist biggrin

You know, looking at that, I think I might try and find one of those. With a UTC.............. scratchchin

Please post some pics when you get it back, as I'd like to see what the 'restored' brushed finish looks like.

I have one. And although I don't subscribe to those stereotypes, yes, I do kinda understand what you mean.

Still I think the following watches brands fit that better
- Any AP Royal Oak Offshore (crap IMHO)
- SS Daytona
- Any Hublot

Yes, but they 'Footballers watches', and expensive. Agree however, even worse.
The Breitling however, fails on 2 counts. 1: It aspires to be a 'Hublot' or some other fussy design, but looks a cheap imitation. 2. It just tries too hard, finishing up as the 'diamante' of crass overstatement. A little like the RRS...Project Kahn.

The emergency models blows those claims clean out the water, as does the superocean heritage models.

Btw, what Breitling watch resembles a Hublot, in order to regarded as a cheap imitation of such?
