The old and battered Heuer 980.032, dug out and fired up after fifteen years or so in a drawer and on a new leather NATO until I can source some missing bits of bracelet.

threadlock said: That's interestingly unusual. How does the retrograde hour work? Does it suddenly twang back to 1 as the minute hand passes the 60 mark? Does this mean you can't wind the hands backwards very far when setting the time? I've never seen a retrograde in the flesh. You are spot on, it jumps from 12 to 1 when the minutes hit the 60. You wind it forward to set the time.

SWAT78 said: Like! Don't suppose you know how big your wrists are? Due to some kind of administrative error I was born with twigs instead of arms, and suspect that watch would be far too big for me. My watches are set at 7 1/2" where as I can put my finger between skin and strap to allow for heat expansion.

http://www.lindewerdelin.com/I don't know too much about them myself other than they are Danish designed, Swiss made and their HQ is in London. Mine is an early watch in the company's history and to my mind one of the best looking. The latest designs have gone a bit too left field for me, although they were pretty unconventional in the first place. To many they fall in that unfortunate "boutique" category where you have a run of the mill ETA moment in a fancy case. To me they are a little more than that as the designs are genuinely interesting and the fit and finish is excellent. The movement in mine (The Elemental Biformeter) is an ETA 2892-A2 which from what I've read seems to be a decent enough movement. Their USP comes in the form of an add-on electronic module that you clip on for diving or climbing/skiing. Of course, everyone knows that you are better off with a Seiko and regular dive computer or a G-Shock and Garmin but that's by the by I'd seen a few reviews posted on the net and always liked the look of the dial but was a little put off by the case shape. In fact it is relatively thin at 11mm and the case back has an arc to it that wraps the watch nicely around the wrist, so it doesn't wear that large in the flesh (hopefully the photo below gives you an idea). I purchased it as a pub/holiday/weekend type watch after getting a little tired of looking at the usual suspects. It's a bit quirky, gets a few comments and I'm pretty sure I wont see another one on the high street. It's no shrinking violet but the rubber strap tones it down a little. It doesn't make it look like the tool watch that it pretends to be, but it does make it a bit more casual looking. So far I really like it though

Thanks I have to admit I was quite nervous about this one and I was preparing for an immediate flip, but I have been pleasantly surprised to say the least. Not sure if it's a keeper long term but I can see me keeping it for a good while. Whilst its obviously a completely different shape to your B&R they do share a few design features with the integrated strap and screw heads on the case.

I like it too, makes a nice change to seeing the usual suspects all the time.
