No it's some sort of capsule that changes colour if the watch gets moisture in it...

Yes it absorbs any moisture and when it gets dark blue you are supposed to send it off for service replacement.

I've never seen that on a watch before.....

Its one of things I like about Sinn they seem to do plenty of innovations if they are not filling watches with Argon/oil/absorbing capsules they are using diamond instead of ruby so no oil or servicing needed.
