Forgot about the Timex I was trying to regulate. The lever is in a difficult place and I had to insert a screwdriver down the side of the movement to push it. Somehow I prodded the balance wheel and knocked one end out of its seat. I sent it to Ryte Time for an overhaul after that!
It's not all been bad though
And writing this has been quite therapeutic.
Oh, so you've actually fixed/improved watches, then? Practice makes perfect, eh?It's not all been bad though

Thanks for the link Mr C
Perhaps naively, I was hoping you could buy a range of off-the-shelf cases, movements, hands and faces that would fit and work together without requiring you to have the skills of Louis Brandt.
Doesn't seem like it's that easy or even possible. Gap in the market perhaps.

How good are you at fixing watches? Or buggering about with the internals in general?

Tiny market so probably not worth doing.Hoofy said:

I'd have a fiddle with some knackered movement before you ruin a perfectly good ETA movement or 5.
