It is a big watch a 45mm diam, and my small wrist makes it look massive in that photo........blame the sub £50 thread, as I was flicking through and followed a link to the watch being talked about.... me being me went off-piste and had a look about and saw this one, didn't look at the size I just liked the look of it so bought it as it was relatively cheap

Don't know much about watches, but I got this from my parents on my 18th birthday and 16 years later it's still going strong!

Worn every day, I've had the glass replaced once and had to have the Seiko upgrade kit after the capacitor failed.

Other than that can't fault it.

Won this Seiko 5 on eBay recently - an SNK369K1 Speed Face; wears too small though so it'll be moved on shortly.

Pity as the white dial's really cool.

This thread has got the better of me in the end. I was trying to find the black and orange one above but couldn't so ended up buying a limited edition somethingorother on Wednesday. Just checked DHL tracking and it's cleared customs at Heathrow with an ETA of this afternoon. Incredible if it shows up later today. Pics to follow...

SRP723K1 - very pleased with it. No idea why the picture has rotated.

Hi. I'm looking for a genuine steel bracelet to replace the leather strap on my Seiko Sportura SNAD23P.

Any suggestions please?

Cheers,

Simon

Evening all,

Don't know why, but it's seemingly impossible to try and find a SKX009J with a rubber strap anywhere online.

Does anyone have any good links to reputable sites?

Thanks in advance.

I'll answer my own question - sorted from Sports Watch Store.

Heard a few things about them - some good, some ok - but we'll see once it arrives.

SKX009J with rubber strap - £174 on 3-5 day delivery.

Fingers crossed - can't wait to get it!

Bit the bullet and bought the Astron I posted above, very pleased. It's a big watch (47mm x 16.5mm) but feels nice on the wrist. It's made from titanium so doesn't feel too heavy, about the same as the Monster (also posted for comparison).

The original version – they introduced smaller ones a year or so later, 44mm, iirc.

That's right, I had a good look round at the second gen versions but I just didn't like them as much. They have a fussier design with the time zones on the outer ceramic and an extra dial. The gold version has gold buttons which I wasn't keen on. The third gens are coming out in July which are even thinner again but with a simpler design; an improvement on 2nd gen but i still preferred the original.

Still loving mine after a couple of years of ownership.

My only criticism is that the luminosity is poor. The later models have solid hands and are probably easier to read in the dark.

Finally got round to shooting my Bullhead recently. It's been an ongoing "rolling restoration" project for a few years now. Spec includes a NOS case, new bezel, new genuine crystal, and quite a few other odds and ends that you can't see.

I am thoroughly enjoying this SRQ013 which I got as a trade a week or so ago ...

It came on a black bracelet, but I'm really not a huge fan of bracelets so changed to a Hirsch Leonardo leather strap.

And here with the pusher protectors wound down:
