I have bought another Seiko since I last contributed to this thread... yesterday this arrived:

I'd never been a massive fan of the Monster but the stars aligned with a discount at Creation Watches and an effusive review I watched on Youtube after half a bottle of wine. Despite not being a Monster fan, I had previously pondered which face I liked best and never made up my mind; the Dracula look was an easy choice when I actually ordered though.

To be honest, while I like the Monster it's quite youthful so I doubt I'll wear it to work much after today. It's solid, weighty and comfortable, it's distinctive and it almost, but doesn't quite, deserve the praise invariably heaped upon it. I prefer the SNZH53 which is cheaper and better finished (though lacks a screw-down crown, solid end-links and hacking/hand-winding).

Very nice Monster, I've a soft spot for the Draculas. I've often contemplated buying one, bloody creation and their sales but it wouldn't get worn because it might look a bit too much on my girly wrists.

I don't know either your wrist size or the size of the watch/es you normally wear however the Monster isn't as big as the name suggests, and the very short lugs help disguise its diameter as well.

Definitely not as big as it looks (and sounds, from the name) - here's a mostly Seiko pic for comparison purposes. Sorry about the reflections; it's only intended to show the sizes.

My old kinetic, bought around 1996 and never left my wrist for the next 18 years! Never missed a beat.

Now replaced with this Japanese 'urchin' auto. Slightly disappointed after the kinetic, loses a bit of time and has a bit of battle damage already, but then again it is my daily.

Anyone interested in swapping this for for another Seiko?

I never wear it anymore and thought it would be fun to see what comes up in a swap smile

(not my pic but for anyone interested, will take pics)

Interesting, that's the very model which was also a contender when I bought mine, above.

Seiko SPC001, had it for over 8 years now, used to be a daily whilst at school, now just when I want a metal bracelet watch that doesn't mind being knocked about.

Been through the wars this has, but still goes strong
