Many thanks for this. What is the fundamental difference between a 007 and 009? Both appeal, but to the layman, I don't see much difference, given what I want it for.
Just colour - your specific question has been answered but the difference between J and K variants is much more hotly debated wink The J version has 'made in Japan' on the dial which leads people to believe they're made in different factories, which may be true; but the main difference is the intended market, I think. So you get a different second language on the day dial.

Quite partial to a Seiko or two myself.

Sorry I have no wrist shots at the moment but hopefully you can see them well enough from the snaps below.
Far right is an SNA595P2 Sportura which I bought about six years ago, love the black and orange contrast on it, particularly on the pushers and also like the dimpled dial.
Next to it is an SKX007 on a Bond NATO - couldn't resist. (Sorry about the reflections on the glass in the pic). I find the NATO makes it much more wearable and one I love to stick on at the weekend.

This my 6309 automatic on plain grey nato. Love the look and feel of it.

Am going to be selling it shortly. As they're not silly money is eBay worth the grief or is anywhere else recommended? I'm not a member of TZ etc so can't use Sales Corner. Any recommendations much appreciated.
Send me a PM when you come to sell it wink

Thanks - the second hand has been changed, although I had hoped it would match the duller orange of the dial print and strap

Got this yesterday:

It's an SRP313K2, affectionately known as a 'Bloody' Monster or 'Vampire' Monster. This has the new 4R36 movement with hacking and handwinding. My 3rd Monster - I've had a 1st gen black one and an orange one.

Not my pic, but I've just acquired this modified SKX. For me it is the perfect adaptation of the model.

Is that a J or K model? I love mine, which is a K; I believe the J has a slightly lighter blue dial so it'd be interesting to compare.

It's a K, the dial and bezel are navy blue but look lighter in certain light conditions.

Here's the Seiko 5 I picked up over the bank holiday, now swapped onto an 18mm Nato 'Bond' strap:

Nice contrast picks up the dial better the normal beige colour strap:

Initial feeling is slightly more comfortable; a day on the wrist will tell.

Pre-owned one here.

Anything else is showing up in the States, so VAT to be added, and the prices weren't much different.
