My first Seiko, saw it on a thread here after looking at sub £50 Seiko 5's, bit of budget creep and Id bought one, whoops. Only thing I don't like is the cheap replacement bracelet, looking to replace it with something else if anyones got any suggestions.

I like those Jumbos. I'd keep an eye out for a Seiko bracelet with the end pieces to fit.
e.g.

I like that a lot, what model is it exactly?

I'm tempted by http://www.creationwatches.com/products/seiko-dive... as a slightly brighter than usual daily.
It's Model # SNDA57P1 I think.
Here is a review of it: http://watchreviewsbymcv.blogspot.nl/2011/04/revie...

I keep looking at these on Ebay - I fancy a vintage Seiko (I got my wife one for Xmas and she loves it) but the prices of Bullheads and UFOs have skyrocketed...these models are still $200, but how do they wear? and how reliable have you found the movement and timekeeping?

I've got a couple of 6139s and they are a good size, about 42mm across the case. They must have seemed huge back in the late 60s, early 70s! Movements seem bulletproof and pretty accurate. If they were good enough for Colonel Pogue etc...

It's fine if it's seiko. Some of the refurbed/modded ones don't always have OE parts and some of the lume on these can be a bit dull (so I've heard).

I think the 7002 ceased production in mid/late nineties and I've always fancied, but have yet to, get a cheap tatty one and have a go at refurb/modding it.

Common watch and not a fantastic pic, but I'm very pleased nonetheless. I'll have to keep dreaming of that Grand Seiko Snowflake and Diver for a little while longer yet. Oh, and yes I have tiny wrists.

its a lovely watch really feel good on the wrist now its on a nice strap, on the leather zulu it does sit a bit high with the double layer under the head but hey accuracy its loosing maybe a minute and a bit a day could regulate it and get it better but im not overly worried. mine is original bar the crystal as im sure it should be hardlex/mineral but its acrylic.
its a 6138-6012 i want a yachtmaster but dont have the cash at the mo frown keep wasting my money on other watches that i take to bit and break wink

although i did rebuild a 5m23-6b50

this is it before i cleaned it up and replaced the cap etc
