Need to replace the battery! Again!
Havent worn it in a while , but love it.
That's why I sold mine! I waited 10 years to buy an Aerospace. After 3 happy years together it needed a new battery and after 6 years it needed a battery and a service and I just couldn't afford that sort of money! So it had to go Havent worn it in a while , but love it.
Hi all
I only have one and it's a bit knocked about
It was gift from a mate, it had been dropped, the crystal was cracked in all directions and all the hands had come adrift so I sent it off and it came back all better!!
The watch keeps excellent time, I lent it to my son, he was going on a business meeting and was offered £1500 for it from a chap Is it really worth this much????
Cheers, John

Doesn't seem an unreasonable price for one.
Bezel's a bit knackered, I'm not sure how much that'd affect the price, though.
I'm not an expert, but it looks genuine to me, so £1500 seems not a million miles away, maybe a little more if you were lucky!

PS Can I ask how you opened the watch?

Thanks for the info
The caseback is a pop off with a slot for a blade to fit, it came off nice an easily as many do..
I've had watches that haven't had the bevel ground on the caseback, these are terrible to pry the back off and usually marks the metal..
I used to delve in to repair work and built up a toolset which included a cleaning machine in which disassemnbled movements were placed in small baskets and rotated in three jars of cleansing solution, the first was for the heavy staining/very dirty parts, the second was cleaner, the third was the cleanest solution for the final wash..
When the first jar was heavily contaminated with oil/grease/ dirt then the jar was emptied, washed and filled with fresh solution, this was put in the last jar position (cleanest) and the other two moved back one, this kept waste to a minimum..
Lubrication was applied as the movement was rebuilt..
The cast iron pot at front right is ahollow, there is a heating element at the bottom, when the parts have been in the three solutions it is placed in the dryer and rotated gently fou a few minutes..
The process removes the old dried grease, oil and even removes rust leaving the parts shiney and clean..
The baskets..
I have Arthritis in my hands fairly bad now and don't do much with watches as it hurts just to grip the screwdrivers!!
I sold the machine last year to a gent on TZUK...
Cheers, John

Here's my SuperOcean...but could really do with some help identifying the other one, would like to know whether it is worth/possible getting it refurbed.
'tother...
It says it's an 1191 and looks like one from this link :'tother...

That said, someone in the US is trying to sell a good one for $2200, so 'perceived' values seem a bit variable.
