Yep, Rolex do the same thing off setting the bracelet!
Speaking of which, I'm looking to get an alcantara strap too for my GMT2C and will be using ABP, Google ABP Paris and be prepared for infinite options and massive indicision!
Hey Don,thanks for the heads up. ABP are good but too complex, have a look at Panatime.com they can also customise to what style you require.Speaking of which, I'm looking to get an alcantara strap too for my GMT2C and will be using ABP, Google ABP Paris and be prepared for infinite options and massive indicision!
My first 'proper' watch, it is second hand but comes with all paperwork / recent service.
I was worried it was a bit small but since wearing it for the first time I like the fact it slips under the sleeve and not on show
How do I go about putting an insurance value on it, as I think (hope!) I paid a good price. Is it just a case of finding 2nd hand ones for sale and taking an average or is it abit more complicated?

I was looking in a jewellers in Brighton yesterday at what I think was a Yellow faced Avenger Seawolf. It had shiny silver hands and it's lost the red square on the end of the second hand and instead it has a single colour with a diamond shaped end!. It looks a bit shiny imo and I didn't really like it. If it isn't broken why try to fix it Mr B.
Edit: I think the second hand might have a red tip but don't like the diamond over square, rant over..

Go and see John Rousseau in Piccadilly Arcade; he has an atelier there. Easily the equal of APB and you get to stand there and order it, try stuff for ideas and see all the exotic hides. Have had 4 or 5 straps from him now from ostrich to rubber!

I'm planning black suede or alcantara using the original clasp from the GMT 2C!
Merry Christmas Breitling fiends!

Please don't think I'm highjacking this thread, but I'm hoping a Breitling regular might be able to help. I'm thinking of getting an ocean racer strap for my SOH 42 so that I can wear it everyday. I love the mesh bracelet it's currently on, but it's too dressy for my day job. Do many of you interchange straps regularly? Is it as simple as I think it is? Thanks.
Merry Crimbo. Just an update to your question. With a spring bar tool changing the strap was fairly easy. Always do from the back (will conceal scratches if any are made). Buckle was already fitted by Breitling Boutique when sizing so all I had to do was remove the croc strap by unclipping end pins, then fit the OR rubber strap.jjlnl said:
Just bought this, my first luxury watch.
I never thought I would own a Breitling, as I had not seen one I liked.
However when in the shop and looking at Omega's and Tag's, the salesman noticed the style I was after and offered to show me the Breitling, nearly twice the price I wanted to pay, but the aviation history sold it to me.
I'm not allowed to wear until Christmas though.

Thanks Niel, that was Xmas pressie from wife. Now the festivities are over I've put it on the more "all year round" Bentley rubber and going to use the OR for summer times with the air holes to stop clammy wrists... LolCan't wait to find a grey alcantara with red stitching to match my car interior
Don't know why pics on iphone coming out rotated? Apologies
