Playing with a new lens today.

Do like the Z-33. My local AD has one on the shelf and it's quite tempting.

My small collection extends to the ubiquitous Bond Seamaster from 2001, which is tucked away, and this pair of Speedmasters. An X-33 Gen2 and a SS Broad Arrow with white face and blue hands.

Just this:

Omega Seamaster Professional Planet Ocean Dial 2 by Peter Whysall, on Flickr

Saw what I think was an interesting fake last night. Chap next to me at the bar had what looked like the same watch, but it was much, much thicker. I had as much of a sneaky peek as I could, and it looked pretty convincing - bezel pip the right size, etc. But by jingo, it was a fatboy. And my (real) one is not exactly Kate Moss.

New shape PO 8500? AFAIR they're quite a lot thicker than the 2500 model.
A real shame, I do like the look of the PO, but it's too big for me.

I'm pretty sure it's a recased pocket watch.

Did wonder, so I eyeballed the bezel, which changed in the redesign. Same as mine.

Not many sadly. All I know is that it has been converted from a pocket watch, as Luke Bird says. The dial is a new metal one, & the serial number of the Omega movement dates it at 1912.

Not a great photo, but my Speedy reduced, Schumacher version. Limited to only 6000.

Not much of a watch wallah, but I had a particularly good month a few years back & decided to go off snowboarding & picked this up at duty free on the way out. I hardly ever wear it but I suppose there's some kind of sentimental attachment to it.

Came across one of my dads old watches whilst helping the parents move house. He has tasked me to "get it sorted out" which meens a correct period strap and good clean up of the dial.

Any ideas on who / where to speak to for the bracelet? I assume the Omega second hand specialist at the end of Burlington Arcade are going to be crazily expensive...?

Also, any idea on value (in terms of letting insurance know, not about to sell my dads first half decent watch!)

It's all your fault on here. Had me swooning for too long! Anyway, one thing led to another on Friday night & next thing you know, the friendly people in Omega wooed me with just one cup of tea & I'm the proud owner of this.
