Bought mine after reading this thread and spotting it going through Gatwick. Great watch at a great price and it is keeping excellent time.

Which model did you buy in the end please (and dare I ask the price, PM if you want)?

I am having 2nd thoughts on my Spanish vendor as I am convinced he's quoted me for the quartz even though I've asked for the automatic

Vendor assures me it's for an automatic so I have sent payment. I also found (only one) a decent review of the vendor from a German watch forum, so fingers crossed!

It's a 41mm auto with black face - got it going through Gatwick for £658

Thanks for the reply. I've ordered a blue 39mm as I have small wrists. I already have a UPS shipping mail so my fears have been allayed, so far. Managed to pay less than that. Might even see it early next week!

I am astounded that it has arrived this morning from sunny Barcelona! clapsmile

Now, do I have to go to a jeweller to remove links or can I buy a tool and do it DIY?

Very nice

But think I'm going to opt for Oris Aquis blue face instead

You could buy the kit yourself but I'd practice on a £5 watch first. wink

I've ordered a tool from eBay but that's to fit a leather strap. I think I've leave the links to a pro. Cheers

Again, for the strap change, practice on a £5 watch!

Will do. I think I have an old Hamilton which doesn't work somewhere in a drawer so I'll dig that out.

You need a pin press for a bracelet with pins, like the HC.

Something like this :

Does the job fine, in my experience.

Please don't. Get a £5 job from the market instead, and sell me the Hamilton!

Popped into my local jeweller and had him do it. £10 and 3 links removed later, job done! No other watches were harmed!

(I doubt the Hamilton is worth much anyway, it's an old manual-wind military thing I think)

Now on the hunt for a leather strap...

Not sure if serious...

...I just sold a 1973 Hamilton military issue for nearly £300...

I'll dig it out and take a pic and the panel can advise. To me it just looks like something they turned out by the million. TBH I can't even remember if it works.

I found that a fiddly piece of crap - well the one that came in my cheap watch tool set - I used the grey strap crate thing, pin push and little hammer... have done 3 watches like that now, by far my favourite method, seem to have more feel, if that makes sense.

If only there was something between those £5 watch tool sets and the mega expensive jewelers tool kits!

Dom still has that black faced chrono for £750 - god I wish I had some disposable cash!

I wouldn't describe it as a piece of fine engineering, but I found mine works just fine.

I find the winding of the knob more precise than hitting a pin with a hammer, but I'm sure that works just as well smile

Bought a 41mm black automatic yesterday. Very impressed with it overall, albeit I find the strap a little rattley.
Other than that fantastic value for money, and highly recommended for a daily workhorse. Got a good deal on it from Burrells in Tunbridge Wells although it took them months to get one in.

Gorgeous...Can someone please post the exact model number for this watch
and if possible the make of this exact same strap..
Many thanks...Paul
I purchased a blue faced version 6 years ago and a few weeks ago I order a blue leather strap via the internet for £10.00 & it looks one of those overpriced ( worn by effing c's Like Beckham and that other 5 knuckle shuffle, the one that attends Flash Gordon & Ming the Merciless church)such as Breitling. It looses a few mins a week, so what one does not purchase to keep accurate time keeping but something sexy to enjoy and show off. censored
