Just seen this after buying a 300M today
Lovely watch.
The Omega shop in Glasgow was great though, as was the champagne and chocolate while buying it.
Don't worry, I can't see you being disappointed in your Omega Lovely watch.

I've got a Speedmaster Pro and a '60s Seamaster 30 and both are lovely watches.
I'm drawn more and more to the Hydroconquest, not least because it's NOT an Omega and it'll be a different brand in my modest collection.
I looked in a couple of local ADs Saturday, but neither had any HCs...

I would recommend it, I have the 41mm in black, the quartz model and it is the best watch I have owned. Bougth it for £510 in dec 2010 and in two years of daily use, at work, not a single mark on the crystal. The bracelet has a few marks on but it has been very tough and lost none of its lustre. When you consider it has the style of a Submariner (often gets confused as one) for a sixth of the cost and you can wear it without worrying that you are devaluing it by huge amounts then I don't think you beat it. Mine is the non chrono as per the photo, adding this feature seems to hoik the price markedly. Do it, you won't regret it!

Anyone got a Longines Hydroconquest?
I was interested in the Omega Seamaster 300M, but I have a couple of Omegas already and the Hydroconquest Automatic looks a lot of watch for not much money. I'm not looking for a watch to actually dive in (I have a Citizen for that).
Is the Longines a good watch?
Anything to consider.
It's the non-Chronograph one I'm interested in, btw.

Either they have dropped in price massively or someone paid the chrono price (grand-ish) for a regular auto.
The quartz can be had now for 480-550 ish and the autos about 650-700 as far as I can see, been considering one for a while if my local dealer ever gets on in to actually handle and try on first. And then I'll buy cheaper online...

Friendly chap aren't you. Why would I be a tool for trying one on in person and then shopping around for the best deal?
If you think that's wrong you're a mug.
On the same note i get good discounts from my local ad becuase i dont do this, if i like the piece i buy it, they know that so always beat any other quoted prices, its a sale after all thats what makes the world go around If you think that's wrong you're a mug.

You're the reason the high street is failing. If a local dealer is so nice as to let you try it on, the least you could do is ask them to match or come close to internet price. If you think that's wrong you're a mug.
I don't understand how you can not see what you're doing is wrong.
So you never buy anything from the internet? You always pay top whack on the highstreet? You don't read online newspapers or magazines (Like PH)? You don't use itunes? You write letters and buy stamps rather than email? All these things are changing the highstreet and you do all of them so get off your moral high horse.
Do you buy petrol from a supermarket chain? Do you shop at a supermarket? By your narrow minded thinking you are killing independent petrol stations and small corner shops.
Of course if a high street dealer can almost match an online price I will go with that. But saying that people like me are killing the high street is a bit pathetic. Life changes and some shops need to catch up. Why shouldn't I look for the best price? If the watch is in stock it's no bother for a dealer to let me browse.
Should PH close down? Should watchfinder.co.uk be shut down? Is Dom H at Hackett watches responsible for the closure of high street ADs as he undercuts them?
Grow up and look at all you do in your life before you mud sling. You tool.
Anyway... back on topic, the hydroconquest looks great on the leather above.
