Is there REALLY a different 3 hand model?
It's hard to believe a) you can tell the difference between 2mm diameter and b) they'd bother making two watches, otherwise identical, 2mm different in size.
Looking at this page, Longines claim the blue 3 handers are 39mm and the black one is 41mm, but all the chronos are 41mm. Maybe they put the black faced ones into the chrono case?
Funnily enough I ordered a blue automatic from Iconicwatches today, but I can't tell you if it's 41 or 39mm and, honestly, I don't care.
If anyone worries about 2mm, their wife must be a very disappointed woman

Just to update this, I have an appointment at my nearest dealer which carries the sports line tomorrow. They're preparing a number of Conquest and HydroConquest models for me to try.
Apparently they only carry quartz in stock though, so I'll have to get a feel for whichever model I like on my wrist the most and then order an automatic. Or I could stick with the quartz as I could have it immediately and it's a lot cheaper, but I really think that it would bug me....
On the other hand, I could have the exact Conquest I want there and then for a few hundred quid less than an automatic
(I'm rambling deliberately)
ETA: I just love appointments at ADs

I'm the same, I don't mind quartz in a cheaper watch, and in a way it makes more sense for me as I've that many watches that I couldn't possibly keep all the automatics at the right time. But I like the idea of lots of little weights/cogs/stuff moving around to make the second hand take 60 seconds for a rotation. I'd say that that sums up my exact feelings about it to be honest. As it's something I want to keep as a decent everyday watch for a while, quartz makes good sense. I'll have to weigh it up when I'm trying it, but I'm 99.9% sure that I'll end up with an automatic.Bought my wife one at Xmas: Automatic with blue face. Its a small but weighty watch (case size 29.5mm). I believe its actually one of the smallest auto movements you can get right now.
The only niggle I have is the slightly awkward nature of access to the very small crown due to the angular lugs either side. That said, it's a tiny issue compared to the solid build quality and pleasure of knowing you are wearing a very good Auto watch with an excellent heritage.
I bought it on the high street: Fraser Hart. Window price was £790 and after an easy negotiation I shook on £695.
In hindsight, with a sterner face and more posturing maybe a few extra quid could've been knocked off, but I thought that was fair price and a decent deal all-in.
Another place I know the price is very good is Hour Passion in Gatwick Airport. They have a good selection of the HC's and circa 20% cheaper than RRP - pretty much the same as several of the on-line deals to be honest.
I wear a Rolex Air King as my daily watch - 18yrs old with only 1 service and still looks and runs like new.
But I'm so impressed with the Hydroconquest that I reckon I get myself one too - probably the black faced 41mm Auto.

I tried on a Conquest quartz today. Watching the tick I decided that if I go for it I'll have to get an automatic.
However, I didn't realise just how big it would be! It just felt too big for me. I'll have to really think about it. It's a shame - I was set on having it for an everyday watch.
I also tried a Tissot Visodate amongst others and it felt tinny and almost plasticky.

I've fancied this for ages
But for some reason it's only available with a quartz movement which puts me off (for £760)
Agree, £760 is alot for a quartz watch when for the same money you can get this:But for some reason it's only available with a quartz movement which puts me off (for £760)
Always annoys me that you get these 'artists impressions' of Hydroconquests when you search (or even on Longines site), they really don't do the watch justice.
Not my photo, sorry if I used yours, but it's a great shot
