That is lovely. Possibly a moot point (as you've bought one) but how do you feel about the price of these? I don't follow CW a huge amount but I've seen a fair few opinions that this is a big jump in price for them.

I think the price is punchy!

That said, I think it's also good value in Top Trumps terms; 5-day power reserve, fancy finished titanium, very skeletonised, in-house movement, blah blah. I think it'd be double or more elsewhere, and I think it reflects the production cost - assuming they're not big stinky fibbers about the cost x3 pricing model.

That aside, I've had a hankering for something grey and titanium and with an interesting movement for a while. I was looking at a Grand SeikO, but the dark snow doesn't quite do it for me, and I wasn't taken with the bracelet on a used SBGA281. And I've liked the Twelve since it appeared, but the previous colour combos have been too much like something I've already got.

This appeared at the right moment...

The bezels are all set to 40 mins past the hour as that was the minute my son was born, I cranked the bezel around on the BB to log the event and it’s subsequently become the default for anything with a rotating bezel.
Knew there must be something behind it smile What a lovely little story - proof once again watches are far more than just objects! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for that, reading between the lines of others' opinions (who haven't put the money down) it does seem to be more a criticism of the brand charging so much rather than the watch not being worth it. I tend to agree with your view, it does seem priced well based on all the factors.

Leapfrogging the Bel Canto on price is certainly a bold move.

But... Still under half the price of the steel Zenith Defy skeleton (which of course has its own virtues), so I don't think it's over-ambitious.

Let's see how I feel in October! wink

Owning a defy skeleton, I must say it is my least favoured watch, as while it is an interesting distraction, it fails at readily displaying the time

I'm hoping the lighter hands and darker bridges will help with that. My first mechanical was a cheapo hand-wound skeleton.

You jumped, then. Hmmm. I have a Bel Canto and an Aquitaine GMT, and a thing about threes, so I am very tempted. The price does seem punchy for CW, but crucially it's the in-house movement, not yet another Sellita. I might just join you.

I was about to unsubscribe from the emails because the teasers were getting annoying!

I figure it's low risk. Deposit is refundable, and if it's not nice when it turns up I can return it. Given what they've said about production capacity being limited (though it's not a limited edition) there might even be someone wanting to jump the queue - though that's not why I went for it.

It'll be interesting to see how long it takes for them to hit capacity for pre-orders.

That's got more than a strong whiff of GP Laureato, which I thought it was initially!

Yes that's the one! I was trying to place it...not Zenith, not VC...

Ordered. Saying 30 November. I'm sure it said October when I was looking earlier today. I wonder how many they plan to make per year?

Woah! Didn’t see that coming, I admire your conviction. I wish I could make such quick decisions.

It definitely said October for me. There's a bit about wanting to avoid the unanticipated waits there were for the Bel Canto, so I think they've put some thought into forecasting production.

"Unanticipated waits" is a lovely way of putting it. Mind you I ended up getting a very good deal out of them after they spectacularly bollixed up my Bel Canto order, so for the time being I continue to have warm feelings for the brand.

Also ordered. Cracking value and I am interested to see how well finished it is.

That’s now two CW watches on order as my VULCAN should be here soon

It wasn't, for clarity, meant to belittle the enormous frustration people must have felt. And it looks like they've learned from that one.
