Not seen black subdials on silver before, or the crown on the left now I look, interesting combination.

I keep looking at Monacos... I suspect I'll get one sometime smile

Presumably that's a vintage one, rather than a TAG Heuer without TAG branding?

M.
Most Heuers have the crown on the left, except if they are manual wind, quartz, or with Lemania movements.
...or 7750 based...

Consider me educated (and on the point of it being a re-edition, I'd never seen this one).

Thanks both smile

Yep, Calibres 11, 12 and 15. The same movement was used by Breitling under the moniker of 'Chrono-matic' as was all part of the development team; Heuer, Breitling and Hamilton-Buren trying to produce the first automatic chronograph watch. It utilised a microrotor system and a modular chronograph rather than the full rotor system and integrated rotor of Zeniths El Primero both were revealed in 1969.

There was also a Seiko movement...

I've got an Offshore Professional Field Engineer on the way. Putting it on a straight edged brown leather Hirsch Strap.

I'm concerned this is the first step in a very expensive addiction.
Can you post a picture of it on the Hirsch Strap?

New work&play watch - had noticed this pop up in the thread a couple of times (mostly in black), but I felt instantly attracted to the slightly brighter option.

1970 Accutron, not decided yet whether this one's for me or sale stock. It's not the most imspiring of Accutrons but it's in almost unworn condition:

And does come with both original boxes, original (unstamped) guarantee, original (unused) voucher for "first battery free" and original leaflet / envelope explaining how to change the battery. That originally contained a spare battery that the jeweller was meant to fit at the point of sale (in addition to the "voucher" one):

I went out to buy a new inner tube for my bike yesterday and ended up buying this!

Fossil Townsman, unfortunately my wife has now hid it and it's my birthday present which I will get in two weeks!

I've recently started growing more of an appreciation for watches and wallets, maybe this is a slippery slope!

I wonder how that looks on a hairy wrist, being transparent.

Of course, it's not arriving for 10-12 days yet though.

In the mean time, here is a picture Lorne pointed me to from the website showing it on a straight edged strap.

Something weird, but for 200 quid I'd quite like to have a look at it! Brass, 300m WR, 47mm(!) and based on the Panerai Milli Metri prototype. Just fancied seeing what all the fuss was about with brass/bronze.

I think I'll be the third owner and it already looks like this, getting nicely patinated.

Might be a fun holiday watch yes

That's an unusual looking case, Yeti. Can't make up my mind what to think about brass / bronze watches.

Bought by myself for myself on Saturday, fell in love with the simplicity 660/1000. I can genuinely see how some of you guys get into collecting fine watches!

I'm wearing mine today, first time in a while, would be interested to hear your thoughts on it. I get a lot of enjoyment from mine but now and again I think that it could do with being a mil or two smaller, not that it's a big watch but more because I think the style suits a smaller diameter.

Good choice - I know some will say it's a bit ubiquitous and not that 'special', but I'd take it over a Rolex Sub any day and they're probably even more common (I certainly see more!).

Both are great watches, I'm sure, a bit undermined by their deserved popularity.

Mine's waiting a service, the mainspring is broken, but I still put it on today anyway biggrin

M

PS Yeti, I'll be interested in your view on the Everest too. I really like mine, but I wouldn't want it any smaller biggrin

Thanks. It's special by my standards. When I was growing up in the fifties and sixties my parents took The Telegraph and almost every day there was a small advertisment on the front page that read "Longines - The World's Most Honored Watch" and I vowed to have one, one day. By the time I had six different Longines, I inherited my uncle's retirement watch, a gold Omega dress watch. The time had come, I thought, to branch out. I'm fairly certain I now have a watch for any occasion.
