I was heading off on a business trip with my trusty Omega Seamaster on my wrist (it has a flying hour-hand that allows one to move time zones without cashing the minutes). I suddenly realised that it wasn't working.

I dropped it off at the Omega shop and went to the airport.

Not having a watch was doing my head in so I went looking for a cheapy watch.

I came out with this:

Thanks mate. To get me through the worry i have to keep reminding myself that today could be the last day i have cancer. Big moment!
I'm sure it will be and we can have a virtual PH celebration when you get the all clear! I'm going for a pint on the river at Waterloo, now, to prepare myself!

Ha! Thanks. Have a sip for me. I've just had my last meal before the op (trout, which i caught myself, and plain rice). Nice and light! Would have loved to have had a Badger beer or something to round it off.

I'll fire up a scar picture tomorrow night all going well. See you on the beach!!!

I'm alive guys, and quite possibly cancer free. Surgery went really well this morning and they did it all keyhole. Tumour came out cleanly with no complications snd there is no evidence of it spreading anywhere else. I shall sleep well tonight!

Always great to hear of someone beating that awful bloody disease!

Great news Eddie, made it all worthwhile!

To celebrate, and to piss Gouldy off with his weedy Day-Date, I have one of these on the way smile

Ha! Mr G will love that. Im going to raffle off my Citizen RM and give the money to the hospital seeing as its all gone so well. It will be replaced by my Pelagos when it eventually arrives anyway. Enjoy in good health as they say.

That is good to hear Eddie. Have you mentioned where the tumor was, because if you have I have missed it?
I beat the hateful thing over 25 years ago now & am still here to tell the tale, I tell you I think we are definitely on the way to getting the upper hand now, for many people it is not a doom & gloom illness anymore.

I do like the bi-metal ones but all gold is just so luxurious! Christ knows when or if I'll wear it laugh

Nope - and if I could have had Michael's brother's watch, I would have! All the 18038s I have tried have stretched President bracelets sadly. This gold Oyster bracelet is in decent condition, now rose than a vitage steel one.

Brook.
Was a constricting tumour on the top corner of my ascending colon. It sat on top of my duodenum which meant I had to have 6 months of chemo first in order to make sure it wasn't attached. Good news was that it wasn't attached and it came out cleanly. fk cancer!

Damn right yes

Auctioning your watch for charity is a great touch too - hopefully it can be done on this site as a sticky? Can run it past the mods when you're ready to go!
