I've got a moonwatch but wanted something waterproof as I'm about to start doing some powerboating. 1000 metres ought to suffice

I do love practicality, a watch I can take into space and another I can dive far deeper than any man could ever.

Indeed, there's a reason the Speedmaster's so popular!

If only the watchmaker would get around to fixing mine!

when's the rest of it turning up? Does it come piece by piece like with a magazine subscription?

It all lands tomorrow so pics tomorrow night.

Meanwhile this landed to day. A little cheapie which I could not resist. Its a really well made sterile homage, that's very comfortable on the wrist

Sigh. Another one. Always wanted to try one and guy took >really< nice pictures. Yes it's just an ETA 2894 but a what a lovely case and strap change design.

Snap - ish .I've got one of those. Not the chrono though. It's a nice watch, but:
The crown really digs in to my wrist.
The leather strap tears really easily right at the point that it meets the case. There's a reason that Cartier offer such a short warranty on the strap, and it's not really on for a £500 strap IMHO.

( I hope H22 reads that. The thought of his face when he realises that you can spend £500 on a watch strap...)
Congrats.

Probably not knowing Cartier. Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with £500 for a strap, if it's a decent well designed and made item. I mean it's just a strap, I can buy a pretty nice one for a ton, so for £500 it's got to be nicer, it should last longer than six months...

I think my threshold for vulgarity is quite low and don't think that qualifies. Can't comment on your personal level of vulgarity, but as for the watch - it's just on the right side of a Franck Muller.

As for being banned from further purchases....doesn't she understand that you're sick? This watch thing is an illness dammit!
