After hankering for a Sinn for a couple of years finally ordered TWO today. I couldn't decide between the 857 UTC and 757 UTC, and since I can't view them anywhere within 150 miles both have been ordered and one will be returned (unless I like them both so much I keep them!!)

Its going to be a long 7 days...

Rediscovered my interest in watches recently with the orient blue mako which is stunning for the price. Fortunately, due to having spare funds it will soon be joined by an Oris TT1 and a practically new steinhart ocean 1 black. May have to sell my poljot 3133 to recoup some of my outlay and keep the missus quiet.

A small anniversary gift from SWMBO (which she doesn't know she's bought yet... wink )

Have been pondering a tonneau watch for a while, and this one sort of matches the Bulova I got SWMBO last year. I've also decided that I won't be spending big bucks on watches as I'm saving towards a Pelagos (and probably a red Black Bay too...).

So after wanting one for yearssssss and trying one a month ago I decided enough was enough and that sacrifices had to be made in order to get my grail.

So with a little sorrow these two were put on the chopping block.

And were replaced by this. On first impressions the want and realisation are in sync. It is a thing of beauty in my eyes. I've kept the DJ as well for the less bling days.

I honestly think this is it for my watch buying days. I'm officially retired lol.

They look pretty similar to me, but that's the thing with Rolexes. They all look the same.

Not sure what happened there? Copy/Paste seemed to be pasting the same link. It should show the new one now. But I get what you're saying to a point. The missus said similar last night which kind of led me to believe I could have kept the others and she would have been none the wiser lol.

From Dirk himself? Either way, I'm sure the wait will be worthwhile. I've always thought that I preferred the "Andy Tims" spec, that does look wonderful though, I've always liked the 3/9 bi-compax layout.

So after a clean out of 2 or 3 of my watches that I never wore - my long search for a mint 16610LV is over.

I'd looked at probably dozens of watches both in the flesh and in high-res pictures and the watches always something about them - either the strap didn't feel quite right or many had scratched bezels - some scratches were really very slight - but I would have known they were there.

But I have now finally found a perfect example of exactly what I was looking for, and at not a stupid price either.

Sorry for the rubbish pictures - they really do not do the watch justice.

A physical brochure? I emailed Dirk and got a PDF doc by return! Was rather disappointed after hearing everyone else raving about the wonderful brochures they had got from him.

Something different... sort of! I have a modern orange dialled Doxa 1200T and also a vintage Omega Seamaster SHOM. This effectively replaces both of them freeing up some more cash for the grail purchase wink So both of those move to the chopping block...

Have a nice mesh brecelet to go on there as well smile

Had this for a little while, but it's been at STS having a bit of a tidy up

Received this a short while back

After a (bit) of a clean, a new glass, a NOS replacement movement and an authentic bracelet, it now looks like this

Image not mine...

Incoming on the back of my 007 no show is a Marathon JSAR. I fancied a tool watch that's decent quality, quartz so I can forget about winding and something I can wear worry free.

I bought the black MilTAT Grezzo G10 Zulu strap in black and natural stitching for the 007 but they both run 22mm lugs so will try it on the
Marathon.

The stable is now:

Oris TT1 divers
G-Shock Riseman GW9200
Seiko Flightmaster
Marathon JSAR.

and if I can find a reputable supplier a Seiko SKX007J. If not I have a Super Engineer bracelet with solid curved end links to sell on.

Were you tempted to swap the bezel? The dial looks so good now with the new crystal that the bezel (to my eye) detracts.

It'd be easy enough to keep the original bezel if you wanted to, but I'd be tempted, for sure smile

Your clean and new crystal certainly made a huge difference to the appearance!
