Hated the leather strap that came with my CW C7 so I barely wore it, hopefully this will change that.

Do you reckon the person who designed that had ever seen a Speedmaster before?

I'm more inclined to think the designer was sat with a plate of biscuits in front of him, whilst penning the design!

Aside from the number of subdials, it looks more like a TAG Carrera than a Speedmaster to me.

I never saw the appeal of Russian watches, I particularly dislike many of the dials. However this,

is on the way.

It'll be coming off the bracelet and going on a nato (might get a dark blue one for it) Then I'm going to attempt to strip the chrome off the bezel, so it's back to the underlying brass. The rest of the case is going to be brushed carefully, probably with a scouring pad.

If the bezel thing doesn't work out, I'll just order one of the custom bezels that can take an insert for a Seiko 007.

I don't like those Russian watches at all.

I know the design's clever, etc, etc, and they always look good in photos, but they just feel incredibly cheap to me (and I'm not adverse to the odd cheap watch).

On the other hand, I picked this up recently and I really like it (although it's a tad small for my taste).

That said, I just looked on eBay and they seem quite expensive there (maybe it's a different version?)...

I don't know about feel, I haven't got my hands on one yet, but they do have a cheap and tacky vibe to them. I think the simpler dial and removing the mirror finish might go some way to sorting that out.

Yes, sorry, I wasn't meaning to be critical of your choice, I know they're very popular and I really DO think they look great in photos, but I just couldn't get on with the one I had, try as I might.

I think it's my loss, but I'll have to live with it smile

An absurdly good watch, really useful functions, great WR and very cool looking. IWC could learn a thing or two IMHO.

"accidentally" bought this from another forum. I know I can't justify a PloProf so this chunky diver will be my substitute.
