Been after one for a while now, and finally got one at a good price: Braun BN106

Ooooh.
I'm not generally fond of quartz, but I rather like that. Might I ask what a "good price" is?

It's a nice looking watch, especially for $230, but surely the logo is wrong.

Mercer is old english for a fabric merchant, so perhaps the cutlass should be this:

That's Yanks for you..

I think there was some blurb re the name and connection with a cutlass, but I cant be bothered to take another look. Might have been related to War of Independence?

I've just treated myself to this for an upcoming "significant" birthday. Not quite as old as me but nearly...

And with the new strap I've just bought...

I had one for a few years. Nice watch, kinda regret letting it go.

Did you get the pencil tin case?

30 mins and it was back in the box waiting for collection to go back to the retailer. The bezel is horribly misaligned and the clicks had the same sort of feel as a maplin ratchet screwdriver. Far from the ones I tried in the boutique. Arse.

Off topic, but when I was working in Houston I was quite frequently (ie more than once) asked when we had our independence day! Same thing happened when working in Kuala Lumpur.

Some great watches on this thread!

My Jaeger Lecoultre Geophysic 1958 (S/S) arrived this week and I'm delighted with it! I also got a JLC chocolate brown alligator strap with it which I might put on once the novelty wears off!

What does Geophysic mean?
Is it really 1958?
Very nice btw.

After my disappointment that the Sinn EZM10 was too big, I've picked up another Sinn with a central chrono. I've alway loved the 142 and one came up at a good price on TZ-UK yesterday. I really like this one smile

And with it's Porsche Design cousin. Got a bit of catching up to do with Andy, but it's a start.

Just done a deal on this rare beast

Sellers pic for now of course
Is that a watch to wear only on your right wrist? Crown on left of name on face of watch. Odd looking but a nice watch nonetheless!
Not at all. There are plenty of destro watches available. Mostly dive watches. The idea is the when worn on the left hand the crown (and chrono pushers if the watch is a chronograph) are less likely to get bashed.
I'll be wearing mine on the right wrist.

Autavia's have the crown on the left & the chrono pushers on the right

Not all of them

Thanks tickious smile

It's basically a re-issue of a 1958 model but it's brand new and limited to 800 pieces for this reference.

This is the new addition to my fleet, an Oris Pro Diver.

I won it on EBay and it should arrive this week.

It's a watch I've admired for a good while and I decided on this after comparing to Planet Oceans and various Breitlings which whilst at least twice the price weren't twice the watch.

It's huge at 51mm and comes with all the documents and boxes.

Paid £1285 plus P and P which felt right to me as I've seen others go for North of £1600.

I did make an insulting offer on a new one at Ernest Jones Brent Cross (£2000 against a list of £2750) but the best they could do was £2375 so I went for used. It sounds like a nice watch.

Benny and Eddie - I can only congratulate you on your fine choices! The pd/Sinn looks in great nick - as is the silverstone lemania - super colour on that one.

Thanks Andy

Been on the hunt for one of these for a while (specifically Lemania branded with the blue herringbone dial).

A slightly better picture

Nice on the isofrane (?) and a lively polished finish, great example!
