^^^^^ That Autodromo looks terrific. Unusual in not having an hour marker at 12 o-clock.

I 'created' and bought this from Undone watches yesterday:

It’s a Seiko underneath but the fun part is the look is fully customisable. You get to pick the colour of the case, the face, the bezal, the hands, the numerals, the strap material and so on in any combo you want. It’s $450, which is evidently £325 at present. Great customer service from Undone themselves too. Quick to respond and enthusiastic!

Downsides? Well, there are cheaper ways to buy that movement, such as actually buying a Seiko! Given the variety of watches Seiko make, it isn't hard to find one that's close to what you have in mind. It's also a big watch (45mm). But what the hey, I got to specify what I wanted. Now to wait a week or two for it's arrival.

My third Tuna - SBBN015. I've had a few previously (SBBN007 & 7549-7010) but this is probably my favourite model to date. Got a sapphire crystal on the way to make it perfect.

^^ Always liked those but never tried one, and with my UX covering the quartz base and the MM300 the polished/brushed all steel tool diver look I'm not sure I could justify it. Mind you, I barely wear my Sinn nowadays...

I sold my UX and replaced it with the Tuna. I love the tech and peformance of the UX but I've decided after having a few that it's too sterile. The Tuna has bags of character and it's one of the very few watches that my non-watch geek friends comment on (all positive). Can't remember why I sold my others Tunas but I'm sure it'll come back to me as usual!

I understand where you're coming from with regards to the UX. Unfortunately my work circumstances are changing as from July which may well force me in to off-loading some of my collection, maybe a rethink on model choice is due as well.

A bit of a re-think is not a bad thing sometimes. I'm down to five from twenty-odd a while back and it's a good number for me smile

When picking up the bottle of wine last night I noted that it was nearly 15%. When I woke up this morning I knew I had some explaining to do to my wife. Particularly because I quit my job yesterday! Here is what red wine made me do.

Its a 3707/9277. Not sure if this is the Titanium or SS.

Hopefully not a mid wife crisis coming up!

Looking at the level of reflection, it’s steel. IWC’s titanium tends to be unpolished, from memory.

That was my assumption as well. Still got it at a reasonable price though

Decided to try one of these Seiko FFF mods, think it looks great, will do for a daily beater/something different.

this for Mrs 2CV for our first wedding anniversary. I did try and convince her to go for something more premium, but she was coming up with all sorts of fashion watch ideas and this was a kind of compromise! Thinking about it, it's prob the last time I will be trying to convince her I should be spending more on a thing.

She will admire you for being a man who changes the situation if it makes you unhappy and love your great taste in woman and watches!

It's arrived and it wears well. I bought it as an everyday watch and it's perfect. I have a "garage queen" that never gets worn because it is in absolutely perfect condition and I want it to stay that way. The IWC is near perfect. But, importantly not perfect. I feel comfortable wearing it and not worrying.

My wife was surprisingly ok with the purchase. I was suspicious. I was right to be. Apparently, we are buying a new ring with 7 diamonds to celebrate our 7 year anniversary. I think I have been played!

Got a Seamaster Megaquartz on the way. It's currently not working but fingers crossed all it needs is a battery! Picture nicked from TZ-UK but it's this variation on the bracelet.....

Well, it's not technically new to me but it has been sat in a drawer with a broken mainspring for about 5 years. It should be back in a couple of days after a repair and service and will feel like a new watch to me.

Just ordered this Benrus, which is a brand that seems to be up & coming again & although this isn't a diver, it has that cosmonaute 1960's aura...

First for me...

Have been a one watch chap for the past year and a bit - a lovely 16610 Sub with a tritium dial that I cherish muchly.
However, recently have been thinking about a very simple, subtle three hand watch, no date, a manual movement perhaps... And then, a quiet moment at work, a friend sends me stuff about the Seiko Lord Marvel...

Late 60s to late 70s IIRC, the second high frequency (10 beats/s) ever put in a "regular" production wristwatch.

A few minutes later, I've signed up to EBay and spent a few hundred on a watch I haven't seen. In fairness, there is the 14 day return policy, and it's from a prolific watch seller with a good rep.

Should arrive by the end of next week. Very excited!

Serial number tells me it's from Oct 1972.

Pics from the seller.
