Agreed. People have the right to have poor taste. Mine doesn't have the date, fabulous watch the day and night. Best of the Reversos IMHO. Congratulations.

Bought my first special watch last week, and I am a happy boy. Never really be in to watches until very recently - I have had the same watch since my graduation in 2003 but only recently thought about something a little smarter and perhaps more fancy. I kind of knew what I wanted from the off and that was that. It wont be to everyones taste I am sure but I brought this home last week;

Good choice!
They aren't to everyones taste, but frankly who cares - they are superb watches.

This landed (pun intended) today.

AVI-8 Hawker Harrier II version 4003 with a Japanese Quartz movement, for the princely sum of £75.

Yes I know that compared to most things on here it is cheap and low-quality. However, with my old Classic Team Lotus daily wearer now looking exceedingly shabby I was merely after something to tide me over for a year or two until I get a graduate job, and look for a Moonwatch.

Its about 1/3 bigger than any watch I've had before, but on first impression it is still nice and light and is very comfy to wear. The strap is a monster 4mm thick and has a nice chunky look and feel, especially with the decorative studs.

Here's a couple of "arty" shots:

Nice choice lad! It's a lovely looking watch. It isn't all about price, despite what many people may think. It's about style. You certainly have a good eye for style. Enjoy it!

The day indicator reminds me of how the gear is displayed on the dials of a Porsche (986/996) Tiptronic

Recently bought this after it came up on my eBay search for Valjoux 7733.
Maybe a bit retro for some, but just my cup of tea. It is a new old stock Sexima Chrono, from circa 1970 at a guess. No info known on brand. New strap, repainted hands and now love it.

Lovely watch- is that a 976? My next watch will be a Reverso - not sure which one yet. Aiming to try a few next month when in London

No - grande taille (42mm x 26mm), which is slightly smaller than the 976. As much as I wanted one, the 976 was just too big on my skinny wrists, so it wasn't going to happen.
They all wear totally differently so make sure you try as many as possible. Start with the classique and work your way up.

Good find. I like it anyway; I'd be very pleased with something like that.

Nezumi Voiture They have a lovely looking yellow limited edition up, which wasn't part of the original campaign. Mine is one of the first issues, which will become highly collectible, I reckon, because of this:

To be fair to them, they had a lot of QC issues to even get to the finished watch stage. They originally offered replacement faces, until they realised that'd probably mean new hands and some casebacks too (those are numbered). So they offered discounts on future purchases and/or a fancy keyring.

I'm sanguine abut it. They seem like a decent bunch who nearly got bitten in the arse. I'm not going to give them a hard time, because they don't need more kicking, and it's not like I spent a fortune on an heirloom watch.

These things happen. I worked with a chap from Middlesbrough once, who had 5,000 calendars printed, where each month showed a different one of our company locations, and he'd spelt Middlesborough wrong.

We called him The April Fool after that smile
