Please don't! I've already turned a reasonable shade of green, I don't need to be any more jealous laugh

The 5711 is the first watch I'd chase down if I had the means to.

Really liking that one, some great detail. The bevelled bezel, domed acrylic, different styles of sub dial hands, the hour marker pips, blue/black combo... yup, very nice indeed.

ETA the ring with the blue numerals on it, is it cambered to mirror the outer tachy scale?

I know, I am honestly making efforts to try other things, I picked up a Val 230 the other month and hopefully a 3019 EP later in the year...but I have quite a few holes still to fill Lemania-wise smile

It's not normally my cup of tea, but a you've seen and described, there are some nice little details that lift it from the Hamilton/Pryngeps/Picot/Eberhard 5100s, personally speaking, plus it's very unusual to see one in good shape and complete with the tachymetre bezel. It makes a good stab at using the utilitarian 5100 in a dress style watch and has a nicely done handset, as you say.

I'm not sure if the chapter ring is angled, I don't think so but will find out soonish. There's a slight offset to the chrono minute hand (as you can see) but according to the current owner it gains only about 10secs a week, which is quite good.

I've been offered an issued Heuer 510.501 but already have a standard Heuer 510.501 - so I may actually sell a watch soon yikes

All kinds of want in those pictures right there!!! Probably my holiest of grail watches, it is a pipe dream though - without a lottery win, I'd never earn enough to afford one frown

That one is like a 70's watch

Don't get me wrong, I love a nice watch....but to me that is £££ worth blinding the watch in general

I am glad it is not just me, and I would really like to know why I am missing something. I like looking through threads like these, and even if a particular watch isn't my "cup of tea" I can usually see the appeal. But these just leave me cold. They advertise in The Week regularly and I was stunned when I looked up the price of them.

Agreed. Nice from the back, dull and very 70s from the front.

My money would go on a Panerai Luminor Marina.

Arrived a week or so ago, just found time to get the camera out:

Man this thing was difficult to photgrapgh. The crystal made lighting and focussing on the dial a nightmare. I was working so hrd on that that I didn't realise I should have cleaned the watch. In reality, the bezel has a mirror finish with no marks, and the crystal too is without belmishes. Not bad for a watch from the mid 60's.
