I read this on TZ-UK the other day but know not everyone on here is on there.. and I know there are a few Mondaine enthusiasts on here!

Very exciting news and the new movement sounds interesting. The only interesting / concerning thing is a lack of a price on the press release even when other Mondaine models that have been announced ahead of Basel2013 have been priced...

Can't wait!

Interesting!

One of the few Quartz watches that really speak to me.

I've always fancied a Mondaine, and this ticks the boxes labelled "mondaine" and "different".

Very interested in one of these!

An utterly pointless complication; and I love it for that smile

Think there's going to be a bit of a queue at Mondaine dealers for this one.. as I say though, just concerned about the price...

Some more details emerging about this watch - such as it being a limited production run with each one individually numbered. I've been waiting for Mondaine to release a new Stop2Go for a few years and then they go make it a special edition. Makes me think it really won't be cheap.

I've posted questions on the Mondaine Facebook page but they only seem interested in using that for self promotion, and not answering questions about price / date of availability from would be customers.

Believe I've read that it's no longer quartz, but mechanical?

No it's quartz.. the original Stop2Go was mechanical I believe? Apparently the new movement is some special in house design that was developed over 4 years, and has in fact two quartz units.. to make the Stop2Go function work properly.

I've seen €500ish rumoured on TZ somewhere.

I'd probably pay that to be honest. I'll wait and see then!

Me too, even if it does set off my "a lot of money to spend on a Quartz" alarm!

It's a special quartz, that's my reasoning!

Well the bespoke twin quartz movement at least makes it pretty unique. And I've wanted a Mondaine with Stop2Go for ages.

I suspect it'll be more than the price that's been floated around here though - not with any factual basis, but my usual pessimism smile

You've just reminded me. I've not seen my Mondaine since my sister's wedding...

Did anyone buy a Stop2Go? I saw one in a watch magazine, the unusual movement appeals, and it would make a good beater.

I love Mondaines, even got a mini one for SWMBO. Can't understand why there are not more popular. Even Apple (inadvertently?) used "a very similar" face in Snow Leopard. Cost them though !
