If you're spending £5k would it not be a better idea to buy one you like?

anybody who asks daft questions like "what's really cool at the moment" is an idiot, and Panerai are only worn by Italians with small penises and no taste.

Apart from that for 5K buy yourself a Rolex ....it's predictable, probably like you smile

I've got a few pam's a 243 and 90.
Both get plenty of attention and look very 'now' and cool IMO. At 44mm they do wear fairly big, but 40mm is also available in some models. With the panerai its a matter of finding a model you like as there are so many in comparison to rolex for example. They are produced in smaller numbers than rolex, so have a little more exclusivity.

My 243 which is brushed steel, seems to mark less easily than my pam90, which is polished steel, and neither are as robust as my rolex externally.

If I could own only one of the above which would I choose for £5k, a rolex sub, a bit more boring but the truth.

Thanks. I find Rolex rather boring looking apart from the Daytona. How about IWC?

That Tudor is a truly awful watch. It looks like something you would buy in the streets in Thailand.
I have never heard of those - is it really a £4k watch?

So Rolexes cheaper cousin?
Horses for courses I suppose. I'm not a fan of Rolexes anyway but any watch that boasts of being "self winding" in orangey brown letters across it's face is too tacky for words in my eyes
Sorry if anyone on here has one, of course, but somehow I doubt it!

A lot of people have Tudors on these forums...

Essentially Rolex build without the full price tag.

Early Tudors even had Rolex crowns and clasps.

MG, I wish I knew whether your PH persona was tongue in cheek.
Im split straight down the middle between finding you hilarious or an incredible cock.
Its tearing me apart not knowing whether to like or hate you.
Nice taste in watches though, Ill give you that either way.

ha ha ha God that made me laugh......the answer to your question is...I'm a complete cock.
Thanks for the compliment on the watch.....only got it last week and it hasn't been of my wrist apart from the time I had sex with 4 prostitutes in a Jacuzzi at the weekend

This post has actually made me laugh and is a far cry from some of the back stabbing dribble I read on here alot.

I am not Italian (my family is from Packham) but have 2 Panerai watches, Tudors, Rolex and all kinds of brands, if I like it I buy it.

I love my Panerai's, very cool, well made and away from the norm. I have lost count of the amount of compliments I have had about them. However the comments are correct, if you want to keep your money safe purchase a Rolex, but yes, they are boring.

Good luck
