Richard Mille RM 035
Discussion
Quite simply the most impressive and coolest watch I have ever seen. I knew it would be light but it took me by surprise how feather weight it really is. You can see clearly how it's been engineered to be as light, but as tough as possible. Extremely comfortable too, and slightly smaller case than I expected - although I was pleased I could just about pull it off on my girly wrists!
What do people think of this one?! A better way to spend your £50k than on a Platinum Daytona maybe?......

Unfortunately, RM do not have a huge following here on PH. I personally love RM and will (one day) have on in my collection, there is another member (Chris5150) who has a few. But every time an expression of interest is shown into RM, a large majority of will question the value of the pieces and whether owning an RM is simply an expression of wealth.
Looks lovely though, very nice.

I'm a fan of the engineering involved but... what time is it??
A goal for any watchmaker should be legibility!

It's certainly one of the nicest ones I've seen, but it really isn't very easy to read. I had a g-shock with an inverse display that I loved, but had to flip cos it was too hard to read.

The first function of a well designed watch is as a timepiece. That fails totally on that count, it is almost impossible to tell the time at a glance. No matter what a technological masterpiece it is in terms of micro-mechanics, it fails dismally as a watch regardless of any aesthetic consideration.

Hmmmm, not sure I agree with that. If I'd thrown 50k at a watch I'd not want to just glance at it, I'd want to have a long lingering look, taking in the detail and feeling mighty good about it (I assume the owner must LOVE it, as it was 50k after all)I think I could take the time to work out what the time was for a piece like this.
Still not my taste mind.
It's the nicest (aesthetically) Richard Mille I think I've ever seen, but I still wouldn't buy it for £500, let alone £50,000. The look simply doesn't appear to me, although I do admire the engineering. Like a Bugatti Veyron, I suppose.
It's also worth noting that I can't afford a Richard Mille anyway so I doubt they'd be much interested in my opinion
