That Zeppelin looks nice. What's the build quality like?

The Zeppelin is a little known watch that I stumbled upon quite randomly through ABlogToWatch's YouTube reviews, it fitted my requirements for a good value, manual-wind/auto dress watch perfectly and it's a great watch for the money, £280 including delivery would you believe! It even has a working power reserve too.

I would happily recommend either watch!

Well, good news is that it doesn't catch fire!

Joking aside, the watch istelf feels quite solid on the whole, for a dress watch of this nature anyway. My only gripe being that the rotor of the Miyota 9100 movement on mine feels a little loose if anything, but I am being picky here! It's worth noting that the face is Domed Hesalite and not sapphire, so it’s obviously prone to the odd mark here and there.

The watch is slightly large size-wise, considering it's meant to be a dress watch, coming in at 42mm lug-to-lug, but that seems to be the norm nowadays and because of it's tapering caseback, it gives the illusion that it sits quite high on the wrist.

The hesalite face looks excellent on this watch too, as is better demonstrated in the photos of W&W's review(Not ABlogToWatch, as I thought it originally was!):

Looks excellent, that does! Out of curiosity, how are finding the adjustable clasp and the time-keeping? smile

Me too frown

Ive spent way to much on watches the last couple of months but it seems Nigel O'Hara have that Hindenburg on for £279 until midnight tonight .. Is that a genuine offer or will it appear again next week.

Research that dealer BEFORE DOING ANYTHING – that's all I'm saying!

Overnight it gained 1sec face up in my watch box, will see how it runs for the next 24h with some wrist time as last time I checked, a month or so ago, I thought it was losing around 6sec over a full day scratchchin
The bracelet's great. It's been very useful to have the ability to micro expand it on the fly with the hotter weather we've had (though I appreciate that the function exists to allow the watch to be worn with a wetsuit), it's a more agricultural solution than something like that on Tudor's Pelagos but it works for me smile

Before you decide, have a look on Creation for an Orient Star Classic, which has a power reserve.

Orient Star: Longines quality. Superb fit and finish thumbup Zeppelin price if you strike lucky with an offer on Creation.

Just don't confuse Orient Star (equal to mid-range Swiss quality) with Orient 3 Stars (lower end range, similar to Seiko 5 quality) readit

I fancy a bit of retro today. Early LCD watch, not sure how to date it as I can't see the usual Bulova date code on it anywhere confused

Nice, I'd say late 70s.

Put a new strap on the latest arrival. its a good job I like this watch because its absolutely useless at telling the time. don't get me wrong its very accurate i just cant see it in anything other than bright sunlight.

I've thought about buying one of those on a few occasions. Not being able to tell the time was one of the reasons I didn't go for it!

I really like it I have to say. Great quality from a proper manufacturer (first automatic wristwatch no less) and really good value second hand. I'll mainly wear it on the bracelet but I've just picked up some Monkeyswag NATOs for holidays smile
