The former Mrs9 sold her Cartier for $500 to a pawn shop when we split... It was less than a year old frown

This is very strange! The Mrs and I were at a Jewellers Crimble function last night and she spied a pre-owned Cartier Francaise. Looked fantabulous on her wrist and was in absolutely mint condition. They were looking for £2250 for it. Original Box & Papers included. I got them down to £1850 without too much pushing. Didn't buy it as the champagne was kicking in and I've made similar alcohol-fuelled 'mistakes' in the past hehe

Do the collective PH experts think that this might be a good deal at that kind of money?

ETA - it was a 1999 watch. Absolutely mint though.

Sounds fair. Christmas coming, get it bought. She will love you more.

Quite a lot cheaper for the extra 5 fathoms.

I have no doubt that it is a beautifully manufactured and finished watch. I like the proportions. But, when it comes to watches, squircular and cirgagonal designs are not something I can get my head around.

I have posted this in it's own thread but am so pleased with the watch thought I would post here too! Rolex Daytona but on Rubberb blue strap which entirely changes the look (and feel) of the watch:

OOI is the strap lined on the inside or do you have rubber against the skin? I can't imagine that when it's hot and sweaty. :scatchchin:

Rubber on the inside too, no lining. I much prefer rubber straps to leather or steel and find them just fine when it's hot.

Me too. I have a blue rubber strap on my Breguet and it looks so much better to my eye.... more comfortable and longer lasting/safer than leather.

Nothing quite as fancy as some of the timepieces on show here, but I picked this up in the Creation Watches sale for a bargain price, I liked the LED backlit feature more than anything!
