Yes it is a completely different movement (quartz).

Why do you wear your watch half way up your forearm ?
I always wear it to the left of the bony bit on the wrist joint. I know this because I have just checked all my watch photos hehe. Looking at the other photos on here it would seem I'm in the minority.

Otherwise it would interfere with the movement of my hand and would be annoying.

That's how I wear my watches!

I find it uncomfortable wearing them beside the hand and in the past when I did it bracelets seemed to wear out much faster.

Presumably because it's where he finds it most comfortable? Looks right to me, up against the back of the lower 'swelling' in the forearm.

Or are you one of those odd people who like to wear a watch actually on the wrist joint so the crown digs in the back of your hand? wink

I must admit to feeling slightly uncomfortable when I see watches worn over the wrist joint, it just looks 'wrong' to me, but if it works for you, why not ? smile

M.

PS I like the Strela, btw, I'd never seen or heard of them before! Can I ask where you got it from?

It's all very Simon Cowells pants to me.

It's just not right, it is a wrist watch, not an elbow watch, SORT IT OUT.

If you have wrist deformities have them linished off or buy a pocket watch.

Bought a Sub in 2008. Recently sent it off for a service and when I got it back decided that I hadn't missed it. Sold it with all it's service seals still in tact and guess what? Yep I missed it. Just bought a new one and it cost me twice what I paid for the first one! An expensive mistake. I have to say though the new bracelet design is more comfy for me. I won't sell this one!

Yes of course I shall sort it out at once, but unfortunately all my wrist shots show it in the forbidden place.

I can't re-take them all.

Strela is a model of watch originally made by Poljot...a Russian/Soviet manufacturer. They have since split into a number of smaller companies. I got mine from a chap on a watch forum a few years ago. You can get them on ebay if you search worldwide for about £400 new. This is about three times what they were sold for two or three years ago eek

Keeping with the theme of German simplicity, for exactly 10% the price of the Sinn:

I finally feel like I'm worthy of this Macintosh. I might get a black roll-neck.

Thanks - Yes, I must admit I balk a bit at paying £400 for a Russian watch. The only one I have is a Scuba Dude and, frankly, it's total tat!

I'm sure the Strela's in a different league, but £400 can buy some nice used watches!

Some Rado Sintra action today on my hairy wrist...

It is so light, it feels like I'm not wearing a watch!

Was wearing my Seamaster 300M yesterday. Massive difference in weight on the wrist compared to this.

Had this watch 10+ years now. Still looks great to me.
