I hadnt seen them for a while, but now Asda & Smiths have the latest,a naval watch...Im just not sure I want French Seamen (for that is how it is advertised!!) on my wrist smile
The one I did get was nice but the strap was too tight for my fat powerfully built wrist
Just had a text from the ex wife saying she's just picked up this one for our son. A french naval watch sounds better than having French Seamen wrapped around your wrist.

Can anyone comment on the Italian diver watch/Pam, is it good, bad or utter rubbish? smile
Surprisingly good; I hadn't been able to find it anywhere until my son said he'd seen it at one of the local newsagents (who never seemed to stock it previously).

I'd be interested to see what they next release ....
I spoke to a newsagent over the weekend and he said he wished he could get more. He has half a dozen or so and they've gone almost as soon as he opens up shop.

Aussie (in post above) is issue 7, not on sale in newsagents/etc until Thurs 15th May.

Fortnightly on from there.

Issues 8 looks ok.
9 appeals to me.

The leather straps so far have been fine, the others bit naff.
You could easily spend the 20 quid on l/straps alone.

I got my "RAF Chronograph" yesterday. Pics to follow when I've unboxed it.

I've not had any for a while, and not had the box yet. Haven't checked if they're still billing me. Has it folded?

I took a punt on this and subscribed at the start as I would never have remembered to get down the newsagents at the right time. I had been looking at a couple of original military watches (the Russian one being one of them), to add to my collection (I already have a couple of Russian watches). I didn't expect much tbh but so far so good. I had one watch pack up in a day, called them and they posted another straight out so can't complain at that.

As much as I like a nice watch, I can't wear mine everyday as I would end up damaging them, so they spend most the time in the safe. These give me something a bit different to wear to work each day. When I'm not wearing my cheap, I don't give a st if I break it, Chinese automatic watch..... Which is now getting on, has never gone wrong and keeps perfect time.

I kind of like things that are a bit different, that you can't just pop to Bluewater and buy.

The collection so far -

God forbid, a cheap Chinese watch

Yes. Not too shabby to be honest. Better than I expected anyway.

The mag is ok. You can read it cover to cover in five mins. I wouldn't buy the mag if it was sold separately tbh. No adverts though which is nice these days.

Mag is the same format each fortnight. First a bit about the watch and who would have worn it. Then a few pages about a watch maker/company from beginning to modern day. Finally a bit about the workings of a movement

Last month I returned back from France to find a couple of disappointing watches on the doorstep - bit small for my taste but these two turned up yesterday.

I stopped my sub after getting the box, which to be fair was fairly decent.

Factual magazine too!

QUOTE
"Military Watch Collection Italian Diver 1940s - Each watch comes with a detailed magazine. Discover the Watchmakers of the World Swiss company Breitling is the world’s only major watch brand to equip all its models with chronometer-certified movements. The specially commissioned watch has many of the features that would have been important to a diver in the Italian Navyf"

Err, it's not, and the homage watch is a Panerai anyway!!
