That's a cracking price if it was in good condition! Was that with B&P? I am guessing not but at that money, I wouldn't care...
No papers, but a service receipt confirming authenticity from Bill Rice. Box etc, & was great condition smile Has been replaced as the daily wearer by a ti SMP though (also a very comfortable watch)

Bill Rice the country singer? Think I'd rather have them from Rolex!

Sounds like a good deal though smile

I'm in pretty much the same position as the OP, although also contemplating a used brietling bentley. Is it possible to get a submariner with date for £3.5k? What's the diff between a submariner and seadweller (they look the sane to me! What's the blue and red bezelled one?

Maybe, privately.

The Seadweller is bigger, has a date but no Cyclops and a gas escape valve. I doubt you will find one for £3500.

The blue and red bezel model is a GMT II with "Pepsi" bezel. I am wearing one as I type.

Thank you. Scared of buying privately as I don't know what to look for. Will wait a while. I have a blancpain moonphase and James bond omega seamaster from 1997, which my wife thinks looks like a sub anyway, so may see what a brietling looks like on my wrist. Thank you for your help.

You could just spend circa £2K and "make do" with a Tudor Pelegos or Black Bay

Now you're confusing me. My fingers will be worn to bloody stumps with all this google imaging!!
I did see a pic of a lovely Rolex Explorer II on another PH thread and when I googled them, saw a pic of one with a brown leather strap. Now that's seriously nice

I have a Bremont MBII. It's probably the best built watch I have - the fit and finish is great. Keeps excellent time and is in to it's second year of regular wear and still looks brand new - the steel hardening is not just marketing speil, nor is the exceptional AR coating on the crystal. Certainly does not look out of place alongside my Omega and Rolex.

Bremont's build quality and record for good customer service is far more important to me than their marketing story or the fact that they use ETA movements.

To the OP I'd say if you really want a Sub, then do what you have to do to get the funds to buy one. If your budget is limited to £3500 I would say look at Bremont if you like them, but look around for a used one as they are not particularly good news depreciation wise.

Otherwise - I think an Explorer II would be the best sensible choice.
