Right handed, wear on my left.

For starters I can glance at the time while still performing a task, plus it tends to make winding the watch a tad easier. (Unless you have some sort of bizarre time piece with the winder on the left)

I have an automatic, but I was always led to belive the wearing of ones watch on a particular hand and the location of the winder was due to the original manual wind timepieces. (And the design has simply carried over)

Are there any watches around with the chronograph functions/winder of the left of the case out of interest?

Orient M-Force Beast?

I think that I saw a Panerai around here, too.

I was told; you wipe your backside with one hand and wear your watch on the other. Not writing I grant you but the same principle.
